Hartshill Hurricanes Under 15’s

Been very slack recently so here are our last three trainers of the week!
Oscar - great effort throughout and fantastic battling
Layla - brilliant runs on the right wing and awesome communication
Josh P - great in the drills and a brilliant performance in the game at the end with a clinical cross to assist a goal

This season, if you see a referee wearing a yellow armband, they are a child.

A young person brave enough to pick up a whistle, walk into the middle of a football pitch and make decisions in front of players, coaches and parents.

They won't get every decision right.

Neither will the players.
Neither will the coaches.
Neither will you.

So when you see that yellow armband:

Be patient.
Encourage them.
Protect them.
Let them learn.

Because that 15-year-old you support this weekend could become a referee for the next 30 years.

The one who gets shouted at, abused or humiliated?

They might put the whistle down on Sunday and never pick it up again.

Trainer of the week - Oscar

Great effort throughout the training session today from start to finish including a well timed sliding tackle on the gaffer!!

Great day out at the GNP Tournament today.

Both teams finished third to make it to the semi finals in the Europa Cup.

Both teams then went on to get into the final after a 1-0 win by Team Anker and a 5-4 win on penalties by Team Porretta.

We spoke as a group at the start of the day about having fun and we reiterated this at the end.
A great game in the final was had by all with Team Porretta winning 2-1.

At the final whistle, there was no meanness, no bitterness, just genuine respect and friendship between both teams and us coaches couldn’t be more proud.

Players of the tournament:
Team Anker : Max
Great stints in goal and up front and wherever he was asked to play!
Team Porretta : Lewis
Solid at the back and a stunning goal that was applauded by the ref!

Another tournament next week so let’s see what happens there!

Trainer of the Week - Franco

Great with today (Saturday). Lots of energy. Usually, Franco plays up top or on the wing. Had a go in defence and he was brilliant! Strong, quick - could this be his new position?!

Trainer of the week - Joe

Great effort in the drills at the start and really good in the game. He did a fantastic stint in defence then moved up field and got a couple of goals as well.

Trainer of the Week - Austin

Great effort from Austin in the drills today, working on his delivery and power of his passes. He then took this into the game at the end, getting into some great battles and finding good areas to be in. 👏🏻

Trainer of the week (25/4/26) - Franco

Franco was fantastic throughout in the training session. Great listening throughout and getting his head up in the game’s to find suitable passes. Also bagged plenty of goals too!
