Today we faced chapelfueld colts at home.
This team beat us last season so it was a good chance to see how much we have improved as a team in that time.
The game started very even until Hugo made a good save and quickly noticed Lincoln had made a run into space and sent a long kick straight over the top, Lincoln’s first touch was perfect and took it in his stride and finished well past the goalkeeper 1-0.
Again Hugo collected the ball in his box and tried the long ball again, jan’s pace couldn’t be matched. The keeper tried to get there first but Jan managed to lob him on the half volley with a really good finish 2-0
We then kept the ball well, we stayed composed and managed to score another, some nice play between Corb, Jan and Lincoln worked through to Lincoln where he finished calmly passed the keeper 3-0.
We then conceded a very sloppy goal where we switched off, a cross was intercepted by Ollie but unfortunately went in his own net 3-1. HT
Half time the message was play like it’s 0-0 do not let this slip (which we have done many times in the past)
Second half we controlled the ball really well and had many chances. One of them being a free kick from about 20 yards. Kai has been practicing free kicks religiously on his own before training. This was a perfect chance for him. He stepped up using his routine and smashed a Beauty of a strike into the top corner giving the keeper no chance. His first goal for the club and what a goal it was. 4-1
A great game for us and that’s 2 wins on the bounce, a very mature performance. 9 goals in 2 weeks and only 2 conceded, a huge improvement from the first 2 weeks.
POTM - Hugo. Hugo used to play for today’s opponents and unfortunately was let go by them. So this was personal for him today, he showed a lot of courage to stand there and make the saves he did and the way he controlled his area was the best he has ever done. Big well done Hugo, just shows if you put the work in you get the results.

Lynx v Coundon Court
Today we had a league fixture and finally had a couple of players on the bench! Starting the season playing with 8 1 week and a bare 9 the week before we had a chance to see what we’ve got.
We started really well going a goal ahead early, a long kick from Hugo in goal found its way to a well timed run from Lincoln who slotted the ball past the goalkeeper and a 1 on 1.
We soon conceded a sloppy goal and went in at half time 1-1
Second half the boys came out strong and started playing some unbelievable 1 - 2 touch football. The opposition couldn’t really handle this and we were on top for the full half scoring 4 very good team goals. We went at them that much it allowed our defence to be very high in there half and they couldn’t really get it any where near our box.
Ajay and Toby had to clean up a couple of times but when they did it was calm and composed and getting us straight back into a good position. Hugo had to make 2-3 good saves but they were half chances.
1 thing we need to work on is when going a few goals ahead we need to stop being selfish and pass the ball in the box as it could of easily been 7 or 8 if we got that final pass right.
POTM - Ajay, lacked a bit of confidence recently and a 1 on 1 chat before the game done him wonders. Won 95% of his duels today and when he did he found a pass instead of a hack up the pitch. Very good Ajay!

Today we faced Weddington in another pre season friendly. With a bare 9 players again we had it against us from the off.
A very well set up Weddington team started really well and scored a few goals, we didn’t really get started and it stayed that way until half time.
Second half was a lot better and we started playing football. Sean up front held the ball up really well and got us playing higher up the pitch. A nice assist from him to Blake to open the scoring up for us, a corner came in and Sean went for a diving header which was heading just wide but Blake fired in from close range. Then some good 1 touch passing from Lincoln, Blake and Joseph the ball landed at Sean’s feet who fired a low shot from the edge of the box to the bottom left corner. Sean then picked the ball up on the half way line and played a lovely back heel through the middle for Blake to chase and slot in past the GK
We dropped off a bit after this and Weddington got a couple more goals.
Weddington tried to play out from the back but Sean managed to work hard and win the ball back on the edge of the box and flashed a good ball across the face of goal for Blake to tap it in for his hatrick.
Big thanks to Henry today for stepping into Ajay’s LB position, he played really well and made some brilliant challenges and clearances.
Also well done to Kai for stepping in at CB and played really well.
A loss away from home but with 4 players out there was some positives to take.
POTM - Sean played as a striker today to cover for Jan and he really performed, held the ball up well and used his strength to put him self about while pressing. With a goal and 3 assists was only right for this to be awarded to him!

FOOTBALL IS BACK!!
Today we faced Coundon cockerels in a pre season friendly at Gun Hill.
We started the game very poorly and conceded inside the first few minutes as we hadn’t switched on, a goal mouth scramble was poked home by the striker.
We then picked it up and started playing some really nice football, we were staying calm on the ball and playing backwards when we had to, and that’s something we’ve really been working on. Some 1 touch football starting from the goalkeeper ended up with aiden who played Jan through and he finished well as always, then a corner was whipped on perfectly onto Jan’s head who guided a lovely header into the far corner. Some good work down the left with Sean, Corb and Jan, it was crossed into the box where aiden pounced and hit a bobbling ball nicely over the keeper and into the back of the net.
Then a really well timed ball was played through the middle where Jan struck and thunder bolt high into the far corner giving the keeper no chance at all to complete his hatrick.
HT 4-1
Half time talk was simple, keep playing football and see the game out with a couple more goals.
We started the second half really well and carried on playing football. Jan picked the ball up and went on a solo run, getting him in a 1 on 1 position where he selflessly squared the ball to Joseph who made no mistake in passing it into an empty net. 5-1
We then thought we had won the game and completely switched off. Coundon really upped there game and bought the game back to 5-4
We done well in the last 5 minutes to see the game out but a lot to improve on when going a few goals ahead. Great work everyone and glad to see you all back.

POTM
Player of the match today was Ajay, he was absolutely solid at the back as always and really put his body on the line, he picked the ball up a few times and played some great balls down the line. Most importantly his vocal game today was great, building every player up throughout the whole game!
Well done boys

On Sunday the boys got a chance to play in a tournament at Molineux stadium. They played out there skin against some top opponents, didn’t look out of place once. Scored some great goals and gained some memories I’m sure they will all remember for a life time.
Big shoutout to Ajay for scoring his first goal for the club and captain Sean for living his dream and scoring at his beloved teams ground. Some good goals from Lincoln, Tyrone and a lovely back heel goal by Jan. The whole team played outstanding and were very unlucky not to make it to the final.
See you all at training tonight ⚽️💙

Yesterday we faced Atherstone hurricanes in a post season friendly so the kids could have a bit of fun after a few stressful weeks with there SATS etc…
We made it clear before the game to go out there and enjoy it and the score to us was irrelevant. Was a good chance to try some players in random positions with top goalscorer Lincoln fancying a go between the sticks 🥅 and our #1 Hugo having a go at RB. Toby our RB had a great game in CAM. Henry also had a go in goal in the 2nd half.
Great game for all our players, we go again Sunday in a exciting tournament at Molineux stadium.

That’s a wrap! LYNX V AFC COVENTRY
Our first season as a football team ends today with our final game of the season,
Against a side who beat us in the reverse fixture we wanted to put on a good performance.
We started the game really good on the front foot and started to dominate possession. A few good chances led to a couple of consecutive corners, Ajay whipped a great ball into the box where Tyrone pounced and fired a well timed half volley into the roof of the net.
A lot of chances followed but just didn’t capitalise on it. HT
The message at half time was to use this 2bd half to completely enjoy themselves and let the ball do the work. That they did!
Jan picked the ball up on the left hand side and went on a solo run to the by line, cut inside and placed the ball across the box where Aiden had made a great run, he made no mistake of slotting the ball into the empty net.
We then bought Corb back on the pitch to use his pace, within around 1 minute Hugo kicked the ball out his hands route 1 style where Corbaley turned into flash and got past the last defender. He smashed a volley from outside the box into the top bin!
Just after this Kai won the ball back and played a good ball into Corb, Corb passed it out wide to Lincoln who’s shot was tipped onto the bar and Corb pounced and tapped the ball into the empty net! 4-0
POTM - Tyrone. Tyrone was outstanding today in CM box to box for the full hour in that hot weather, bossed the game from start to finish so highly deserved.
I’d personally like to thank everyone this season for all your help and support, especially the parents and supporters. our first season together as a team has been great and was way more than we expected. Big thank you to our sponsors

Away league match v Atherstone bears.
This weekend we face Atherstone bears on a lovely pitch regardless of the poor weather conditions.
With a few players short and a couple of players having to play out of position we started the game well. Very even game for the first 10 minutes.
Lincoln picked up the ball on the far side and skipped past his player, his fast footwork won him a foul but unfortunately gained a bad ankle injury and that was the end of his game. Speedy recovery Lincoln!!
The boys done well to stay switched on after seeing there captain for the day in a lot of pain, Corbaley caused the opposition havoc in the first half and his work rate paid off when he played a perfectly timed through ball ahead of Jan who done the business on staying calm and finished really well past a very good goalkeeper.
Atherstone then woke up and caused us problems, Hugo’s starting positions were great and cut a lot of great chances out by just being in that high starting position that we’ve been working on a lot with him.
Atherstone clawed a couple back before half time.
2nd half to be honest from both teams was a bit flat, a very even game but Atherstone nicked a couple in the middle stages of it.
Our 3 month unbeaten streak is no over but the lads have nothing to be ashamed of, playing against a top side. Last time out against these they put 9 past us!
POTM - Hugo. Hugo took basic instructions today and worked really well on his starting position, a few great saves and his goal kicks were very very good. Well done Hugo!
Corb. Corbaley put a great shift in and his pace today was terrifying, the opposition really struggled against him and his final ball was excellent.
On to the next one we go guys.
