Today was our second game of the season V's Glen Villa Vets.
Unfortunately we lost 5- 2. It was a hard fought game with the bare 11 in the 24 degrees heat.
It was an away game but played at the Giff and coton as the Villa boys were unable to play on their pitch and Bermuda was taken, so the wide pitch of the Griff became our home for the afternoon.
Ours was a much changed team from the previous match with a few debuts too, the Villa boys looked well drilled and took the lead.
We pulled 1 back with a smart shot from Edgy and went in at half time all square after some brilliant saves from big Matt keeping us in the game.
The second half got off to a good start with Edgy doubling his tally with a second.
Unfortunately that was the start of the end with a dubious penalty decision going against us putting it all square again.
After that we started to fade in the heat with the villa boys using their sub to roll on and off giving most of their team a rest as our hardy 11 soldiered on.
Eventually the villa boys took the lead and we
went down to 10 men for the final 10mins after young Martin Sadler covered so much ground he had worn blisters into his feet.
So we came off second best today but didn't stop, had plenty of chances and most of the ball too.
Onto the next game, onwards and upwards.... thanks to all the team today 👍
