Feva's Matt York came out on top at the Messingham Sands Summer Festival, with a total weight of 1,430lbs over 5 days.

"Day 1 - Peg 2 Swan. Simple day. Bomb to the corner, wag and bomb in front and short pole. Rotating lines on the bomb and a few late on the wag and short. Ended with 340lb for a section win! Day 2 - Peg 4 Islands. Caught early shallow on the pole and on the bottom underneath. Had 120lb in first hour and half. Then rotated bomb on the sand bar and pole to end up with my PB on islands which was 396lb 😳 This also ended up being the weight of the week and won the section.

"Day 3 - Peg 38 Swan. Mugging first 2 hours for 140lb then short pole to the tree last 2. Ended up with 309lb. Which won the section again! Day 4 - Peg 53 Islands. A peg I really didn’t want. Shallow peg especially with low water levels. A numbers game. Losing usually just as many as you land. Committed to 2 lines pole to the island to the left which was good initially. Had maybe 30lb 2 hours in and was miles behind the rest of section. Ended up filling the bomb line in and catching steady till a ridiculous last 50 mins where I caught 90-100lb. Another section win!

"Day 5 - Peg 10 Swan. Not a good draw. Been a horrible area all week. Top 3 all in a line - me, Ryan and Neil. So was game-on time. Ended up struggling for 3 hours just picking up odd fish and some silvers until the last 1.5hr when they rocked up on the long pole. To end with 172lb and another section win! 😬 Ended the week with a perfect 5 points and total weight of over 1430lb 5oz."

Feva's Chris Cameron had a seriously good few weeks of fishing this month...

🏆 Harescombe Lakes – 317lb to win the match and set a new lake match record, catching shallow all day on the Feva 2nd Generation Liquid Hybrid Elastic 16–18 Blue.

🏆 Stafford Moor – Woodpecker Lake – Saturday’s Summer League match saw me on peg 8, alternating between several lines throughout the day to put together 316lb for the overall win.

🏆 Stafford Moor – Oak Lake – Back on peg 8 Sunday, this time catching shallow at 6m all day. The fish just kept coming and I actually had to stop fishing to go and get more nets! Finished with a massive 460lb for another match win.

🏆 Stafford Moor – Tanner’s Lake – Back again yesterday, drawing peg 2 with a lovely breeze blowing into the peg. I caught steadily short at 6m and 3m throughout the day, finishing with 203lb for another overall match win.

"I also got the chance on Monday to test the upcoming Feva T20 Carp Master 13m pole at Meadowlands. First impressions are excellent — a lovely bit of kit at a really good price. Looking forward to putting plenty more hours into it!"

Feva's Leigh Hodgkinson fished the 3 day festival at Little John Lakes, hoping to defend last year's title - and bagged a whopping 1,109lb in the process!

It is random draw on the first day then rotation after that. Day 1 was Peg 24 Maid Marion, where Leigh had 456lb 11oz for a match win and new lake record as well 🔥🔥🔥 great start to the festival.

Day 2 peg 24 Friar Tuck - again another fantastic day catching 312lb all on pellets to comfortably win the lake once again and put him in top spot so far.

Day 3 Peg 26 Robin Hood - Leigh kept things really simple and just set up both edges, managed to do enough and once again win the section with just over 300lb for 3 straight wins with a massive total weight of 1,109lb 14oz over 3 days.

The grand final of the Feva Junior Makins Masters is just over a month away - with over £2,000 of prizes up for grabs to support junior angling.
