From birth to 5 months, babies gradually develop the ability to hold their head forward as they build core strength, particularly through “crunches” after 4 months.

Neck and lumbar reflexes are key survival mechanisms that enable crawling to the ni**le and lay the foundation for strong muscles.

The lumbar reflex specifically defines the spine’s range of motion, influencing posture and the strength of the posterior chain.

These reflexes shape not just a baby’s posture but also their skull, face, oral cavity, airways, and musculoskeletal development.

Proper stimulation from day one is vital for a strong, functional body.

Techniques like the Ferrari hold (longer daily use) and the Rolls-Royce hold (a playful, soothing option) are highly effective.

While tummy time is helpful, it’s often brief and frustrating for younger babies.

The more their reflexes are stimulated, the faster they develop strength.

Birth events like vacuum or forceps delivery, long/short labor, or C-sections can disrupt reflexes and balance, causing issues such as latching problems, vomiting, or skull deformities.

Thankfully, osteopathy can address and reverse these imbalances, helping your baby grow strong, healthy, and balanced.

Hi everyone!

Just a little one to say thank you so much to everyone who has been to a Happy Baby Class over the past few months! I've absolutely loved it ❤️

Lots of you have messaged asking about classes, so I thought I'd just post on here to say that I'm taking a little break to go on maternity leave!

So funny how in my last massage class we were talking about twins, and I said I'd love to have twins come to my classes, and now I'm about to have my own! 😅

I will be back, so please keep an eye on my page and share with any new mamas!

In the meantime, please send any twin tips my way 😅

Hope to see you all soon,

Lots of love,

Helen ❤️
