Long post …

A few months ago I picked up an injury. A ni**le at the back of my right knee that I ignored for a while, but wouldn’t p**s off.

It stopped me doing what I loved - weightlifting.

I did what most people would do. Throw a bit of strop 😠, “If I can’t do what I like, then screw it. I’ll drink beer and eat pizza”.

It doesn’t need to be this way.

With good programming, and a good coach you can still move forward, rehab injuries and get stronger.

My knee is almost fixed. By swapping high bar squats for low bar, increasing deadlifts and incorporating zercher squats I’m actually stronger all round. I’ve learned new skills and I’m still moving forward.

Look for the opportunity, not the negative, find knowledgeable people - there’s almost always a “way” and trust the process.

I’ll be back to Olympic lifting soon 🙂.

Punch like and follow if you want to follow my journey 🙂

Had a brilliant day helping out a a weightlifting comp at CrossFit Nottingham today. What a brilliant crew! Really well organised, great fun and some great lifting from the athletes- best part was watching several competitors hit new PBs. Inspiring stuff 🙌💪🏋🏻🙌

Being able to safely look after your own health & well-being is extremely important and something we need more education on IMO. What do you think?

Great session tonight working on some cleans. Also liz has progressed really well in successfully performing the sn**ch considering due to mobility, she couldn't get into a comfortable overhead squat position. Great work everyone and we look forward to next week's session
