The Yorkshire Sporting Spaniel Club held its summer 2026 16 Open Stake for Cocker Spaniels today.

The trial was held at Westerdale & Rosedale Estate, by kind permission of D. Ross Esq & his Head Gamekeeper, J. Brough Esq.

Today the Yorkshire Sporting Spaniel Club held their 2026 Novice and Open AV working tests at the Horsleygate Estate, by kind permission of the Barlow Hound Hunt. The ground was ideal spaniel ground, and we were very lucky to have been granted access to such a lovely estate.

A huge thank you to our judges for the day, Martyn Elliott and Lucie Lowe for giving up their time to judge both tests.

Thank you to our helpers, Sarah, Godfrey, Brian and Albert, and to all committee members who made this day possible. And a big thank you to Sunny from Thorpecreek Imagery who was our photographer for the day. We will share photos as soon as they are available for purchase.

Thank you to all of the handlers who supported the club today. We hope everyone throughly enjoyed the day and the grounds. It was very nice to see such a wonderful turn out for both tests, and to see such a high standard of dogs in both the Novice and Open.
