Last Saturday at Ogmore Valley Life Centre we held the Beat The Black Dog event

🌲 73 runners and their furry four-legged friends joined together and ran a 12km trail run in order to raise awareness in aid of Campaign Against Living Miserably coinciding with World Su***de Prevention Day.

An amazing effort from all parts! From Cruz Cafe offering hot drinks β˜•, Alfies Mutts providing all companions with well-deserved treats 🐢, Bellacreatesuk with a variety of accessories πŸ•, and Custom Garments Wales customising gear for our runners πŸƒ

What a privilege to be able to provide our venue for such an important event; together we can beat the black dog.

Changing the narrative means shifting away from silence and stigma toward a culture of openness, compassion, and understanding. It starts with knowing that it’s okay to talk about how you’re feeling.

Across our centres, we are proud to have team members trained as Mental Health First Aiders through Mental Health First Aid England.

They are equipped to offer a non-judgmental listening ear, supportive guidance, and signposting to professional help whenever you need it.

Whether you need a chat, a quiet space, or direction to extra support, our team is here for you. Every conversation, no matter how small, can save a life.

Need support today? You are never alone:
Samaritans: Call 116 123 (Free, 24/7)
Shout: Text SHOUT to 85258 (Free, 24/7 crisis text service)
NHS 111: Call 111 for urgent mental health support
Emergency: Call 999 or visit your local A&E

Look out for one another today and every day. Ask a friend how they’re really doing.
