🏏 U13s Match Report – Away to Tavistock 🏏

115/2 Tavistock Vs 113/9 BBCC

Our U13s made the trip to Tavistock on a very windy evening and, after losing the toss, were asked to bat first.

William and Joey opened the innings although we lost an early wicket, Joey looked confident from his very first ball. Joey remained calm and batted brilliantly against some very good bowling from Tavistock. We were a little unlucky at times, with several wickets falling either bowled or caught, but the team kept battling.

Alistair and Eddie both found the boundary with some excellent shots before Harry came to the crease and played a superb innings, striking several fantastic fours, including a boundary from a no-ball. After retiring earlier in the innings, Joey returned to the crease and, together with Harry, guided the team to an impressive total of 113 runs, with Joey finishing as top scorer on 41 runs.

With runs on the board, the team knew they had to field well, and they certainly did! Alistair opened the bowling brilliantly, while Billy safely took a sharp catch behind the stumps from Harry's spin bowling. Xavier also held onto a great catch from Eddie's bowling as the team continued to apply pressure. Throughout the innings, the whole side worked hard in the field, showing excellent teamwork, communication and encouragement.

🏅 Sam – for backing up brilliantly throughout the innings and supporting his teammates with great energy and commitment.
