The time has come🏹 *Update room allocation*
You hopefully already saw our email about this earlier this week.
Our AGM this year will be on Wednesday, 19th March 2025, 7.30 pm, NK1.
Please have a look through all the different roles, speak to the current committee and grill them about their responsibilities and why you should join the new AUAC committee. 😁
It is a lovely opportunity to take on a little bit of workload which will be very rewarding and build your teamworking and communication skills up. Very useful to have. 🥳
See you in less than 2 weeks. Nominations are open, so please refer to the email if you would like to nominate yourself. If you need someone to second you, reach out to any AUAC club member or the current committee, and we would love to second you for the role of your dreams.🎯

📚We are bringing the Development Sessions back!
Our first session will be an Introduction to Archery this Friday, 7th March, at 5.30 pm. Location will be confirmed soon and will be on the Spond event, so please do sign up, if you are interested.📅
What are Development Sessions?🏹
One of our club members will dedicate some time outside of training sessions to teach us about different aspects of our sport. This will range from very basic knowledge to some more detailed talks about how to get your own bow, other equipment, tune your bow or fletch some arrows. Speakers will vary throughout the semester.
If you are interested in talking about anything archery related, please get in touch with Ben or Vatsal, who are kindly organising all of these for us.
See you on Friday!🎯

📅Dates & times for our upcoming beginner's course🎯
**Please read the entire post***
The beginner's course will be indoors in the Butchart Main Hall on University Road. We will be offering six sessions. Sign up will open after our GIAG session and capped at 40 people. You *must* attend a minimum of 5 sessions to be competent enough to attend our regular training sessions. If you miss any, please do let us know **in advance** by emailing or messaging us, we all know life gets busy and people get ill.
We will have a free Give-It-A-Go Session for you to come and try out archery before committing, but for safety and insurance, we require you to buy our membership to attend the first session. You will then be a full member of our club and be affiliated with Archery GB. You will also be added to our club communication app, Spond, which is essential for sign-ups for training sessions, as well as posts about social events or competitions.
All equipment (bow and fancy accessories such as arm guards and finger tabs) will be provided by us. You only need to bring your excited self and be ready to learn about archery.🏹 We have several coaches that will volunteer their time and knowledge to teach you. Please be kind and respectful.
Please remember to tie back long hair, wear comfortable (but no baggy) clothing, appropriate footwear (no heels), remove/tape piercings when shooting for your own safety.
****If you have never done archery before, you must attend our beginner's course and attend at least 5 sessions. We will teach you everything about archery, setting up your own bow, personal safety, our code of conduct, competitions, and setting up an archery range. If you are an experienced archer, you do not need to take our beginner's course. Please get in touch with us and we can arrange a training session to meet you and go over the safety rules with you and welcome you in our club. ***
Should you have any questions, please get in touch. We can also accommodate archery from a chair if needed. Do let us know, and we will try our best to make it happen.

☃☃Thanks to everyone who joined us for our Frostbite this year! It was fantastic to see such a great turnout bracing the cold outdoors. ❄Both a Frostbite round and even a Portsmouth round (amazingly done Novices) were shot outdoors. Well done for persevering! 👏
Especially all the archers (and novices) who came all the way from Dundee☃
🗒The results will be emailed out to all competitors in due time.

❄It's the time of the year to get ready to feast!🥕
We will be holding our Christmas Pot Luck & Secret Santa Gift Exchange at the Chaplaincy on Wednesday, 11th Dec, at 6.30 pm.
Please bring along a dish for everyone to enjoy. You do not need to be an amazing cook, or even cook something from scratch. You are more than welcome to attend without bringing along a dish or with some snacks / drinks. Games are also very welcome.
If you do want to bring your own creation, please email [email protected] with a list of ingredients in your dish to display allergens.
We will be running various games and also do our Secret Santa gift swap.
We look forward to feasting with you all very soon!☃
