We said farewell to KBA last night and went out with a bang!

It was an incredibly difficult decision to close the doors and I have so much to thank for the incredible journey kettlebell training has brought to my life - Nothing but the good stuff like health, fitness, challenges, places and people.... Oh the wonderful people!!

I have had the great pleasure to learn from, train with, compete with, instruct and coach the most amazing people form around the world. So many of whom are special in my heart.

I grew passionate about kettlebell training very quickly and I am proud of many moments such as bringing dedicated classes to Aberdeen, hosting Scotland’s first organised kettlebell competition, becoming the first IKFF Master Trainer in the UK, achieving Master of Sports rank in Kettlebell Sport and also lifting at World Championships for the Scotland National Squad.
I am very lucky to have had great support and encouragement around me for all these special times, including my family and committed club members.

KBA has been a place for me to grow, share and explore. It’s been a privilege to offer kettlebell instruction and guide people along their journey.
Encouraging progress and hard work and then watching their growth and reward happen right in front of you is a very special thing. From as simple as learning a new technique right through to competitive lifting on the world stage. What a pleasure that has been, and very very rewarding.

The hardest part of this is no doubt missing the regular meeting of our wonderful members and training hard together and having great banter.

Much love to all KBA members, past and present. Thank you for being part of the journey.

So the chapter closes, but the story’s not finished... I wish everyone I know connected to Kettlebell Aberdeen a great onward journey and I Iook forward to keeping in touch!

The photos show a great final week of lifting together - I am grateful and proud of these moments right to the end.

4 week beginners block of kettlebell training starting on Monday 9th January.
Every Monday and Wednesday at 7.45pm.
Classes are 45mins long and intended to be progressive in terms of learning and applying your kettlebell lifting skills.
The 4 week block is still just £45.

Kettlebell classes for Beginners!

Join us for a 4 week block of beginners kettlebell classes starting on Monday 9th January 2023.

Learn the basics of kettlebell lifting and develop your ability and fitness in our dedicated and structured block of classes.

All classes are instructor-led and will progress you through kettlebell training and general exercise.

Kettlebell training delivers great all-round fitness and our members become advanced quickly, allowing them to progress their ability and fitness.

Classes are every Monday and Wednesday at 7.45pm to 8.30pm.

The 4 week block is just £45 and as an added bonus, you are welcome to join our Saturday morning circuit class!

We hope you enjoy and feel the benefit of the beginners block of classes that you consider joining our small group of kettlebellers and take your training and exercise further with us!

NOT words associated with our 4 week block designed for beginners.

We appreciate that a new environment with new people learning a new activity can be daunting.

But 5 mins up the stairs and new starts will feel welcome and un-phased as they realise the nicely sized training space we have and chat to the small group of others meeting for the first time.

Each session builds on the last. The basic movements and exercises are repeated and progressed. Gradually we introduce mini and manageable working sets which help break away from ‘learning’ to ‘doing’.

If a new start feels like they have a limitation, then this process allows them to monitor how they feel. We can give their limitation some extra attention and hopefully build confidence working with it, perhaps improving it.

Our beginners block encourages a few stages to the process of kettlebell training so new starts will feel handy shifting a bell and know how exercising feels in our regular training.

There are kettlebell exercises and there is kettlebell training 💪

The 4 week beginners block teaches new starts the essential kettlebell lifts but also introduces the methodology to progress training with kettlebells and become a skilled lifter. Then their ability and fitness are progressed in our weekly training sessions.

Check out the thoughts of our new member who recently competed the 4 week beginners block AND ALSO 5 weeks on after joining the main sessions.
