🏏 Junior Girls Tournament at Greenfield! 💚🩷

On Friday, we had the pleasure of hosting a fantastic Junior Girls Tournament here at Greenfield Cricket Club.

As well as two Greenfield teams, we were delighted to welcome girls representing Micklehurst, Glodwick, Stayley, Woodhouses, Shaw and Middleton.

It was brilliant to see so many young girls enjoying their cricket, making new friends and representing their clubs. The talent, enthusiasm and smiles on show made it a fantastic day — and it certainly bodes well for the future of women’s cricket across all of these clubs! 👏🏏

A huge thank you to P. Mullaney & Sons Ltd for sponsoring the medals 🏅 and to Councillor Helen Bishop for her support of GCC girls’ team.

And finally, a massive thank you to all of our volunteers who gave up their time and helped make the day such a success. These events simply wouldn’t happen without you. 💙

Greenfield Cricket Club is delighted to announce that professional Ayaz Tasawar has re-signed for the 2027 season.

Ayaz has enjoyed an outstanding season with the club, scoring more than 1,100 runs and counting across all competitions and playing a major role in Greenfield’s highly successful campaign.

Club Chairman Jason Taylor commented:

“I’m very pleased that we have secured Ayaz for the 2027 season. It was an absolute priority for us to re-sign him following his match-winning contributions this season. His desire, passion and commitment to the club have been fantastic, and we’re delighted to see him returning for another season.”

Director of Cricket Jon Mayor added:

“Ayaz has been outstanding for us this season and has played a huge part in what has been a fantastic campaign. To be sitting near the top of Prem 2 at this stage is a great achievement for the club, and Ayaz has delivered a number of match-winning innings that have made a real difference to our results. His consistency, attitude and ability to perform when the pressure is on have been hugely impressive. Securing him for 2027 was a major priority for us, and we’re delighted that he’ll be back to help us build on what we’ve achieved this season.”

Ayaz’s return is another significant boost for Greenfield as the club continues to build on its progress both on and off the field.
