Shawside Juniors Football Club

Our Shawside u14 Boca Saturday team & Sunday Atletico team, currently playing Mysl championship level are both in need of a keeper for the new season ahead.
Both teams finished the season with silverware after a terrific first season of 11v11 football . But sadly due to academy signing they are looking for a new keeper.

We have 1 or 2 outfield places available throughout our 3 Sunday teams & our Saturday Boca team.

As you know, Maisie was presented with the Lioness of the Year Award earlier this month🏆 This award recognises far more than football. It celebrates courage, resilience and determination in the face of adversity. Last year, Maisie was battling cancer. Throughout her journey, she showed incredible strength, and now she is back doing what she loves most – playing football with her teammates. She continues to inspire everyone around her both on and off the pitch. To support an amazing cause close to their hearts, Maisie's dad, David, is taking on the Manchester 10K to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust, helping other young people facing the challenges that Maisie and her family have experienced.

David's fundraiser for Teenage Cancer Trust Help David Edwards raise money to support Teenage Cancer Trust

We’re 8 years into our football club journey and what a journey we’ve been on. We’re obviously very child focused on everything we do but yesterday we did something solely for our top team of coaches. Without our volunteer coaches the services we provide wouldn’t happen as they give up their midweek evenings, weekends and spare time arranging matches and sessions.

So yesterday we booked the fabulous facilities at Oldham Athletic as we pitted two teams of SJFC coaches against each other. Team Jordan vs Team Andre in a game that had more up for grabs than just bragging rights. The competitive game ended in a 2-2 draw, however, as there was a trophy on the line a quick penalty shoot out followed resulting in Team Andre lifting the cup.

Two wonderful local charities Springhill Hospice and Dr Kershaws will benefit from the charity game from the monies collected. Big shout out to The Shawside for sponsoring the game and welcoming the group back for food and drink and to Castle Hawk driving range who were the Match Ball Sponsor. Big thanks to the players, families and friends that came down to support that helped create a great atmosphere. There will be some sore old men today but it was definitely worth it

Our Girls section kicked off our annual awards evening / presentation for season 2025/26 this year held at The Shawside. Thanks to all that attended and represented our club throughout the season. Shout out to Billy and Anna for helping organise and the coaches for giving up their time. Well done all

What a weekend of football, with the mysl season coming to a close our younger groups finished with some fantastic performances & results to match .
Amazing efforts from all our top coaches & children throughout the year , some making champions league finals & others league finals .

Our Sunday u13's Atletico had a memorable weekend . After 2 league divisions in the mysl championship division playing there first season of 11v11 .
A runners up in league one which was a fine achievement in itself, they then went on an unbeaten run in league two to take the league trophy home.
Big congratulations to coaches Andre Hurn & Toni Carter & all the boys representing the club .
Final few weeks for all our teams, lots of memories already made . Good luck to our youngest development ages this weekend in there finals down at Manchester City academy 🙌
