A Setback, Not a Step Back 💚⚽️

Not every game goes your way, and today was one of those days for our Burscough FC Under 14 Linnets, as we fell to a 2–0 defeat against Brnesc Belles.

After a tough game yesterday, the girls understandably had tired legs, and the first half was a little lacklustre. But what mattered most was the response. 💪

The second half was a completely different story. The girls came out with the right attitude, showed fantastic spirit and started playing the football we know and love. We created chance after chance and finished the game with 10 shots on goal, but unfortunately couldn't find the back of the net. Frustrating? Absolutely. But sometimes football just doesn't go your way.

There is no disappointment, just plenty of focus. 🎯

There is lots for us to take from today and plenty to work on. As coaches, we always say there is more to learn in defeat, and today has certainly given us that.

A setback, yes. But one we will use to fuel us into the season. 🔥

🔥⚽ WHAT A PERFORMANCE, WOLVES! ⚽🔥

A fantastic first pre-season outing for Burscough FC Under 14 Wolves, coming away with a brilliant 4–1 victory against a really strong Sankey side! 💚🐺

It was a tough, hot day and with just one substitute available, the girls had to dig deep. But the effort, commitment and teamwork from start to finish were absolutely outstanding. 👏🔥

The football on display was fantastic — quality passing, movement, determination and a real togetherness that made this a brilliant team performance. 💪⚽

There were plenty of positives to take, but most importantly, the girls are loving their football, loving being part of Burscough FC and loving playing together. 💚

A special mention too for the fantastic home pitch set-up at Richmond Park — a great pitch and excellent facilities giving the girls a brilliant environment to develop and enjoy their football. 👌⚽

This is just a glimpse of what’s to come… and we’re getting more excited by the week! 🔥

This Sunday, Burscough U14 Linnets are back in action for our second pre-season friendly! 🙌

We’re really looking forward to getting back out there, continuing to build as a team and putting all the hard work from training into practice. 💪⚽️

Every session, every challenge and every game is another opportunity to learn, improve and grow together.

The girls have been working brilliantly, and we can’t wait to see them take another step forward this Sunday! 💚

🔥 8 WEEKS OF WORK… AND THIS IS WHY WE DO IT! ⚽️💚

For the last eight weeks, the Burscough Under 14 Linnets have been working hard on their first touch, movement and pace of play — and today we got to see it all come together beautifully. 👏

Five passes strung together, every touch purposeful, scanning and quick simple play, a perfectly weighted through ball, followed by a lovely bottom corner finish. ⚽️🔥

There were plenty of goals to choose from today, but this was the best goal of the game — not just because of the finish, but because of everything that came before it.

Seeing the girls working together, trusting each other and putting into practice the things they have been working so hard on in training is simply fantastic. ❤️

This is what development looks like.
This is what teamwork looks like.
This is why we put the work in. 💪

Eight weeks of hard work… and today it came alive on the pitch. 🙌⚽️

Special mention to our POTM today Liv, for a superb all round performance, strength, aggression, being competitive, creative, great vision, assists and goals, her game today had everything. Playing a year up and bursting with confidence, she is a pleasure to work with and it's fantastic to see the development. Well done Liv.

First friendly of pre season done, and lots to take from the game. A great win and some excellent football straight off the training pitch.

In the sunshine, the girls put in a really high-tempo performance, working at speed, competing hard and showing some fantastic quality throughout. The possession play was excellent, with quick passing, movement, decision-making and a real desire to keep the ball and play our football. 👏⚽

The intensity, attitude and togetherness shown tonight are exactly what we want to see as we build towards the new season. 💪

We’re getting more and more excited for the season ahead and there’s a real buzz around the group! 🔥

And tomorrow… it’s time to take things into the gym for our first strength & conditioning session! 💪🏋️‍♀️
