MHA Aughton Park

At Aughton Park we have weekly singing and a try of so many different musical instruments with Zoe our Music Therapist. Our residents (and staff!) love the variety these sessions offer - a true sensory overload! 🎶🪇🪘🎸

Our residents always look forward to Phil coming every week to deliver a chair based exercise session.
Lots of variety and always lots of laughter 😂 It's so important to stay active as we get older and our residents certainly challenge Phil each Tuesday! Thankyou Phil for being part of our Aughton Park family 🏋‍♀️🤸‍♀️⛹️‍♀️

We have a piano here at Aughton Park that is FREE to a good home.
We believe it needs tuning and/or some attention but we're no Elton John so can't be sure 😂
However as a stand alone piece of furniture it is beautiful and we are happy to part with it to a loving home.
You will need to arrange your own removal and transport - this is a VERY HEAVY piece of furniture. Please call us or message us here if you are interested 🎶🎹🎶

It is National Reading Day on Sunday 6th September and we have many avid readers here at Aughton Park.
With the help of some of our residents we have put together a box of local history books, books to reminisce over, fiction books, Memory Lane Gazettes and materials to make bookmarks. All ideal for sharing, creating, reading aloud with families and talking about our lives.

Understandably due to the weather forecast the Art in the Park exhibition we are participating in has been postponed.
We will update you when a new date has been decided 🎨

In the run up to Harvest Festival celebrations we will also be collecting donations for our local Foodbank in Ormskirk.
If you are able to pop an extra item into your shopping trolley over the next month we know the Foodbank and those that use it would be so grateful. We will have a box for donations in our foyer - as always thankyou so much

It was an absolute pleasure to welcome our regular visiting therapy dog Whittle to Aughton Park this morning with his owner James.
Whittle is a trained Pets as Therapy dog and his gentle, friendly nature means our residents always feel comfortable around him - whether that's sitting with him, petting him or walking in the gardens. Animals have incredible instinctive personalities and we are so fortunate to have James and Whittle as part of the Aughton Park family. Thankyou both 🐶

We were delighted to be approached by Oak Creative Group to be involved with Art in the Park in Ormskirk on Saturday 29th August.
This community exhibition will include our fantastic piece of creative artwork of drawings, poetry and knitting put together by some of our residents, their families and our brilliant Knit & Natter group. Please find time to visit the display in Coronation Park Band Stand on the day 🥰

We celebrated International Day of Friendship here at MHA Aughton Park recently and reflected on the importance of close connections. We had a reminiscence circle where we picked out statements and discussed them as a group.
