Ever wondered what a 1-1 PT session with me actually looks like? Let me walk you through it. 💛

Because I think a lot of people don’t book a personal trainer because they don’t know what to expect. And the unknown can feel intimidating.

So let’s remove that barrier completely.

Before we even start 😊
Every new client begins with a thorough consultation. We talk about your goals, your history with exercise, any injuries or health considerations, your lifestyle and what you actually enjoy. This isn’t a box ticking exercise it’s how I build a programme that actually works for you. 💛

Your programme
Based on your consultation I design a programme specifically for you. Not a template. Not something I use for everyone. Something built around your body, your goals and your life.

The session itself 💛
Sessions are held in my private studio, a safe, comfortable and completely judgement free environment. Just you and me.

We work through your programme together. I demonstrate exercises, correct your form and technique, push you when you’re ready and support you when you need it. Every single rep matters and I’m watching every single one. 💛

The check in
At the end of every session we review how it went. What felt good, what was challenging, what we need to adjust. Your programme evolves as you do.

The ongoing support
My clients don’t just hear from me during sessions. I’m available between sessions for questions, advice and support. Because progress happens between sessions too. 💛

What you won’t find:

• Judgement
• A generic plan
• Being left to figure it out alone
• Feeling intimidated or overwhelmed 💛

What you will find:

• A coach who genuinely cares
• A programme built entirely around you
• Laughter, always laughter 😄
• Real sustainable results 💛

I’m opening new client slots from mid June/July. If you’ve been thinking about it, now is the perfect time to get in touch.

A 5 star review that really made my day. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is exactly what a thorough run coaching assessment looks like.

Understanding where you are right now, your form, your gait, your strengths and your areas to work on, is the foundation of everything. Without that assessment any programme is just guesswork.

This client came to me wanting to improve and left with a clear, specific and personalised plan to do exactly that. Core strength, balance and gait efficiency, all areas that make a real difference to running performance and injury prevention. 💛

Here’s what they had to say:

“A comprehensive assessment of my current form leading to a range of suggestions to improve core strength, balance and altering gait to improve efficiency. A solid investment to aid my goals.”

This is what run coaching with me looks like. Not generic advice. Not a one size fits all plan. A proper individual assessment followed by a programme built specifically around you and your goals. 💛

If you’d like a comprehensive running assessment, I’d love to help.

Exercise and mental health. Let’s talk about the science. 💛

We all know exercise is good for us physically. But the impact it has on our mental health is just as powerful, and nowhere near talked about enough.

Here’s what actually happens in your brain when you move your body:

Endorphins are released 💛

Exercise triggers the release of endorphins, your brain’s natural feel good chemicals. This is why even a short walk can shift your mood almost immediately.

Cortisol is reduced.

Cortisol is your stress hormone. Regular exercise helps regulate and reduce cortisol levels meaning you become more resilient to stress over time. 💛

Serotonin and dopamine increase.

These are your happiness and motivation neurotransmitters. Exercise boosts both which is why regular movement has been shown to be as effective as medication for mild to moderate depression in some studies.

Sleep improves.

Exercise helps regulate your sleep patterns. Better sleep means better mood, better focus and better emotional regulation. 💛

Self confidence grows.

As you get stronger and fitter your relationship with your body changes. You start to feel capable. Proud. Powerful. That mindset shift goes far beyond the gym.

Brain fog lifts.

Exercise increases blood flow to the brain improving concentration, memory and mental clarity. 💛

The really important thing:

You don’t need to run a marathon or spend hours in the gym to feel these benefits. Research shows that just 30 minutes of moderate exercise three times a week is enough to make a meaningful difference to your mental health.

A walk. A PT session. A run. It all counts. 💛

I started running 12 years ago because I needed headspace. Because I needed something just for me. And it changed my life not just physically but mentally and emotionally too.

That’s why I do what I do. Because I’ve felt it myself.

And I want to help others feel it too. 💛

If you’re ready to start I’d love to help.

This one still makes me smile every time I read it. 💛

Building confidence, changing mindsets and helping people realise they’re capable of more than they ever thought possible, that’s why I do what I do.

Oh and the laughter. Always the laughter. 😄💛

Here’s what this client had to say:

“Emma listened to what mattered to me and built a programme around that. She pushed me when I needed it and supported me when I didn’t. I developed a positive mindset, learned to be proud of my achievements and realised I could do more than I thought. I’ve never laughed so much in a workout — mostly at my own lack of balance! I genuinely feel like I’ve made a really good friend.”

No judgement. No one size fits all. Just proper personalised training that fits around your life and makes you feel brilliant. 💛

Sound like what you need?

Some days are harder than others. And that’s ok. 💛

Some days you show up feeling strong, motivated and ready. And some days you’re tired, sore, stressed and running on empty.

Both of those days count.

Because giving up is easy. Showing up when everything feels hard that’s where the real progress happens.

I’ve been reminded of this a lot lately during my own recovery. There have been days where I’ve felt frustrated, impatient and fed up of my own body not doing what I want it to do. Days where it would have been so easy to feel sorry for myself and give up on the process.

But I kept going. Slowly. Imperfectly. One day at a time. 💛

And that’s all any of us can do.

Whether you’re:

∙ Recovering from injury or illness

∙ Struggling to stay consistent with your training

∙ Finding it hard to stay on track with your nutrition

∙ Just having a really hard week 💛

Please don’t give up.

Rest when you need to. Ask for help when you need to. Have the bad day. Feel the frustration.

And then get back up. 💛

Progress is never a straight line. But every single step forward, however small, matters.

You’ve got this. And if you need someone in your corner to help you keep going, that’s exactly what I’m here for. 💛

Mental Health Awareness Week. Let me tell you my story. ❤️

11 years ago I did my first running event.

I was a new mum who needed headspace. Who needed something just for me. Who couldn’t run down the street without stopping.

That one decision changed my life.

I discovered the power of movement on my mental and physical health and wellbeing and I’ve never looked back.

It led me to become a run leader, run coach and personal trainer. To create Run Mums a community of incredible women who found exactly what I found. That running is so much more than fitness. 💛

It led me to study mental wellbeing because I wanted to understand how to help people on a deeper level.

Because movement changes lives. Not just bodies.

I have been privileged to work and train with some of the most amazing women. To watch them surprise themselves. To see their confidence grow. To be there when they cross finish lines they never thought possible.

All of which makes me more passionate every single day about the power of movement to change lives and support overall mental health and wellbeing. ❤️

This is why I do what I do.

If you’re ready to start your own journey I’d love to help. 💛

This message made my day. 💛

This is exactly why I do what I do.

When someone comes to me juggling a full time job, two kids and everything else life throws at them and they still show up, still put the work in and still make progress that is something to be genuinely proud of.

Because it’s not easy. And she does it every single week.

Here’s what she had to say:

“I started working with Emma in January this year and have been making fab progress. I am feeling much more energetic. I really appreciate her balanced approach to holding me accountable and yet understanding that working out as a full-time working mum of two needs flexibility. Sessions are fun with lots of laughter. Emma genuinely cares about the progress I make and it is such a great feeling seeing her being proud of my achievements.”

This is 1-1 personal training done properly. 💛

A plan that fits around your real life. Accountability without pressure. Flexibility without losing focus. And genuine celebration of every single win along the way because every win matters.

If you’re a busy mum who keeps putting yourself last this is your sign. You deserve this too. 💛

The fundamentals of running. Let’s talk about them. 💛

But first let me tell you why I’m so passionate about this.

12 years ago I was a full time mum with a 6 month old baby and absolutely no headspace. I needed something just for me.

So I started running. No Couch to 5K app. No structured plan. Just me running and walking around my estate wondering if I’d ever make it down the street without stopping. 😄

But I kept going. Joined a running group. Fell in love with it so much I started my own, Run Mums, for mums who needed exactly what I had needed. That headspace. That time just for them. 💛

5 years later I trained as a personal trainer and run coach. And my greatest achievement so far? Helping a complete beginner complete her first marathon in Berlin in 4 hours. 🙏

I still get goosebumps. 💛

That’s what running can do. And it all starts with the ABCs.

A — Agility 💛

The ability to move quickly and change direction efficiently. Better agility means better running economy, fewer injuries and more control over your body when the terrain gets tough.

B — Balance 💛

Running is essentially a series of single leg movements. Good balance means better stability, better form and a significantly lower risk of injury. It’s the foundation everything else is built on.

C — Coordination 💛

Arms, legs, breathing all working together efficiently. Good coordination means less wasted energy and a smoother more efficient running stride.

Get these three things right and everything else, your pace, your endurance, your confidence follows naturally. 💛

That’s what I help people do. As your run coach we work on the foundations first so everything else falls into place.

This one made my heart full. 💛

When I started personal training I knew I wanted to do more than just help people get physically stronger.

I wanted every session to feel like a safe space.

Somewhere you could push yourself without fear of judgement. Somewhere you could have a hard day and still leave feeling better than when you arrived.

Somewhere you felt genuinely supported, mind, body and everything in between.

Reading this reminded me exactly why I do what I do. 💛

Here’s what this incredible client had to say:

“Emma has this softly, softly way of pushing me to be better without ever making it feel forced or overwhelming. She’s also been a constant source of support when I’ve needed it the most. Every session is not just about fitness, but about feeling stronger mentally and emotionally too. So grateful to have her in my corner and always finding out what’s for tea 🤪”

This. This is everything. 💛

If you’re looking for a personal trainer who will meet you exactly where you are, on the hard days and the good ones, I’d love to work with you.

Let me be honest with you about what 1-1 personal training actually is. 💛

Because I think there’s a lot of confusion out there.

It’s not just having someone stand next to you while you workout. It’s not someone counting your reps and telling you you’re doing great. And it’s definitely not a generic programme with your name stuck on the top.

Real 1-1 personal training is so much more than that.

It’s someone who actually knows you.

Your history with exercise. Your relationship with your body. The injuries you’ve had. Your schedule, your stress levels, your life. All of it. 💛

It’s a programme built entirely around you.

Not a template. Not something 50 other people are following. Something created specifically for where you are right now and where you want to get to.

It’s someone in your corner who notices.

Notices when you’re not quite yourself. When you’re ready for more even before you think you are. When you need pushing and when you need support. 💛

This is what I bring to every single session. And it’s why the people I work with get results that go way beyond the gym, in their strength, their confidence and how they feel about themselves every single day.

I’m also opening up some new client slots from mid June, if you’ve been thinking about starting your journey now is the perfect time to get in touch. 💛
