Congratulations to Otley Sailing Club, who will be using their £6,000 grand prize from the Sunsail Funding the Future initiative to revitalise old Laser dinghies to make sailing more accessible and affordable at the Royal Yachting Association affiliated club. The judges included Practical Boat Owner editor Katy Stickland and round the world yachtswoman Dee Caffari who said the tough job of selecting the winners from the 66 entries involved “much negotiation, much argument, much contemplation”. Henley Sailing Club and Wilsonian Sailing Club were awarded the £2,000 runners up prizes for their community initiatives 👏⛵️🎉

Many thanks to the Sarah Jackson Community Wish. Our hoist is now refurbished and available for our disabled sailors to enjoy their sailing.

Congratulations to Otley Sailing Club winners of the Sunsail Funding the Future initiative 2025.

The club from West Yorkshire took the top prize, securing a grant of £6,000 to purchase and refurbish five second-hand Laser dinghies, creating a new "Club Laser" membership scheme that allows members to sail without owning a boat.

Congratulations to all our ne Level 1 & 2 Dinghy sailors who successfully completed their course this weekend.

We are always looking for volunteers to support our amazing Sailability sessions. No experience is necessary as full training will be given. We work with local SEN schools providing training and experience for young people with disabilities and long-term health conditions. Sessions run during term time right through to October so it isn't too late to get involved this year!
