Oxford Blackbirds Girls Class of 08-09

After our first trial not going ahead due to the weather we are now on our second week of trials at Tilsley Park this evening.

Calling all girls currently playing in Under 13’s, 14’s, 15’s and 16’s you are welcomed to try out for next seasons Oxfordshire Elite U16 Girls teams that will be competing in the JPL Warriors League.

We will be looking to build squads in all four of these age groups for next season and hope to build shadow squads too. ALL successful trialists will be encouraged to dual sign for their current teams. Players will benefit from UEFA B lead training sessions, tactical/technical sessions supported by veo and the opportunity of playing against opposition from professional clubs academies.

All girls in the Oxfordshire and surrounding areas are welcome to attend.

Trials for block 2 of Charlton Athletic Girls’ Emerging Talent Centre are taking place on 25th/26th October. There are running U11/U12/U13 age groups. To apply see link in our bio.

This morning we welcome Wantage Town U14’s Girls to Blackbird Leys Field for our third game of the season.

The Girls had a great performance as well as a brilliant result last weekend and want to continue that run.

All three of Ivy, Livia and Maisie return to the squad after missing last weeks game. With having a full squad this gives the managers the first real selection headache of the season.

The Oxfordshire Girls Football League Purple League game will kick off at 10:00.

With two sessions in this week, the Girls gave their all in preparation of playing our nemesis, Wantage Town U14’s Girls.

We are yet to have a full quota at training, but are still getting the enough of the squad on the training field together.

Tomorrow sees the Girls welcome the Alfredians to Blackbird Leys Field for a 10:00 kick off.
