A huge well done to our three JDC skaters who competed at their first British Solo Dance Championships and Solo Dance Celebration event this week:
🌟 David Zhou - Intermediate Novice (🇬🇧Championships)
🌟 Isobel Cosgrove - Basic Novice (🇬🇧Championships)
🌟 Lily Crush - Beginner (Celebration event)
All three worked tremendously hard to get to this point. They put in some very solid performances, despite facing some challenges along the way. Your resilience is truly impressive. We’re all so proud of you! 💪💖
It was lovely to see our skaters taking in the experience, having fun and supporting each other. 👏 🧸
They have learnt so much and are an inspiration to our other club skaters, many of whom will be hoping to follow in their skate steps.🤩🇬🇧

Congrats to all of our JDC members who passed their tests earlier this week - great work everyone! ⛸️💪
Proudly displaying their pass certificates in the photo are Hannah (left) and Evie (right).
Well done also to Aqua, Chloe R, and Lel, for passing.

Oxford JDC will be rooting for one of its younger members, Lily Crush, who will be competing at the Solo Dance Celebration (Beginner Category) in Sheffield on Monday. Lily will be supported by her coach Elliot on the day. 🍀⛸️
What a great idea from BIS to run this event for Beginner and Juvenile skaters, alongside the Solo Dance Championships in the same setting. Invaluable experience, no doubt, for when they reach Basic Novice level and can seek to qualify. 🇬🇧⛸️
You have worked super hard Lily, so go out there, skate strong and sparkle! ✨💪
Lily is also looking forward to cheering on her Oxford JDC friend Issy, who is competing in the Championships on the same day. Apparently, throwing soft toys for/at Issy will be a particular highlight, as well as watching the skating! 👏 🧸 🤩

Junior Dance Club members took to the ice this week to cheer the wonderful Julia, who is stepping back from running the club, an incredible ten years after founding it. ⛸️🏆
On behalf of all our ice dancers past and present, a big ‘thank you!’ 👏💖
Julia, your wisdom, guidance and organisation will be sorely missed. We wish you and your family all the best for the future. 😢🍀

Romeo & Juliet…but make it OLYMPIC ICE DANCE.
Phebe Bekker & James Hernandez just delivered a Free Dance drenched in drama, detail, and heartbreak - a performance that didn’t just tell the story, it made you feel it. 🖤✨
And the numbers match the moment:
🔥 Free Dance SB: 106.99
🔥 Total SB: 179.45
From first note to final pose - fearless, cinematic, and utterly unforgettable.
What a way to make your Olympic debut. 🇬🇧
