Wheatley U11 Purples at the Hook Norton Tournament ⚽️

What a day for the boys! Going unbeaten throughout the entire tournament, the team showed incredible determination, teamwork, and quality from start to finish.

After another nerve-wracking penalty shootout victory in the quarter-final with 2 fantastic saves from our keeper, the boys booked their place in the Semi. 🧤

The first half of the Semi-final was a goalless one with the boys switching on the for the second half to secure a shot at the Final!

Despite narrowly missing out on the win in the final, they can be immensely proud of their performance.

The effort, attitude, and football on display all day were outstanding. Every player gave everything for the team and represented Wheatley brilliantly.

A huge well done to all the boys, coaches, and supporters. An unbeaten tournament run and a runners-up finish is a fantastic achievement to build on. 👏⚽💜

Well what a busy weekend for Wheatley Purples u13 last weekend.

Starting off with the Radley tournament playing some great football only to be knocked out of group stage on goal difference.

Then onto the presentation evening where the whole team had so much fun, smiles throughout the evening which was amazing to see. A privilege to coach them this season and looking forward to next season.

Then finally Sunday, going unbeaten till the final only conceding 1 goal. Every player was phenomenal only conceding a last minute goal in extra time to lose. Unbelievably proud of everyone all weekend.

Here we go again - another double weekend of tournaments for our Wheatley U8’s!

The team experienced every type of weather, from rain, sun and wind to constantly changing temperatures. Thankfully, one thing remained consistent throughout the weekend: great venues, excellent pitches, quality refereeing and strong opposition.

Tournaments are a funny thing. Nothing is guaranteed, and those 8-minute matches can somehow feel both the longest and shortest games to watch. Teams are expected to hit the ground running from the very first whistle, with little room for error.

On Saturday, we headed over to Launton Youth FC for a fantastic, well-run tournament. The boys put in some excellent performances and were delighted to retain the Plate Trophy for a second consecutive year.

Sunday saw us travel to Yarnton Blues FC for another brilliantly organised tournament. The team started incredibly strongly and, although we narrowly missed out on progressing to the Cup competition, they bounced back superbly to secure another Plate Trophy win.

A huge well done to all the players for their effort and determination across both days.

Just one presentation and two tournaments remain before we bring the 2025/26 season to a close! 💜⚽🏆

Our Mini Session was in full swing this Sunday!

The weather stayed on our side, and everyone had a fantastic time.

Don’t forget, our Mini Sessions for children aged 4 - 6 take place every Sunday from 9am - 10am during term time.

🏆 Europa Titans Tournament Winners 🏆

A fantastic day for Wheatley U15s, who finished the season in style by winning the Europa Titans Tournament.

The boys showed great character throughout the day, and after a hard-fought final finished level, held their nerve to win 8-7 on penalties! 👏

A brilliant way to end the football weekends. Well done, lads! 💜⚽

What a day for Wheatley Purples U11s 💜⚽

Another fantastic tournament performance from the boys at the Garden City FC Tournament, showing great teamwork, determination and togetherness throughout the day.

After an amazing group stage, the team battled their way to the semi-finals, narrowly missing out on a place in the final after a tough game against the home side.

Most teams don’t make it out of the group stages, so reaching another semi-final is something to be proud of — especially as this team continues an incredible start to tournament season, reaching at least the semi-finals in every tournament they’ve entered so far.

Football gives you highs and lows — we win some, we lose some — but what matters most is the way this team plays for each other and keeps improving every time they step onto the pitch.

Heads high boys, another strong tournament performance and plenty more to come 💜👏

Our recent tournaments at Blackbirds, Garden City, and Radley have been brilliant.

The boys put in 100% effort, and I couldn't ask for more from them.

We’re taking away so much valuable experience and plenty of great lessons for the future. 💜👏🏼

Last week training was all about sunshine, smiles, and cooling off with water balloons in the heat ☀️💦🎈

This week, it was back to reality with a rainy training session — but the weather didn’t stop the effort, energy, or teamwork from the boys 🌧️💪⚽

No matter the forecast, these players keep showing up, working hard, and having fun together.
