For grass seed to start the germination process one of the most important factors is soil temperature. A soil temperature of generally 6c or above is needed for successful germination. Different soil types warm up and cool down at different rates so it’s important to know what soil type you have when reseeding.

I have 25 years experience in Equine Grass Management including 18 years as Head Groundsman at one of the world’s best racecourses. I have a huge knowledge of soil types, nutrition, grass species, management of paddocks, grass gallops, racecourses, polo pitches and much more.
