Well done to the Marston students- all potential future champions, who took their stripy belt test today. You all showed good levels of concentration. Now I know you can do that - every week, please!
Perhaps we need to revisit how to tie a belt - there's some creative solutions here.

Busy day grading yesterday. Always an honour and a pleasure to be asked to teach at other clubs. Great commitment and spirit from everyone there.
*** Congratulations ***
Congratulations and well done to the 60 students who attended and graded at the joint Ataru and Harpenden JKA event yesterday.
Three informative 1 hour training sessions, preceded the grading with Sensei Martyn King instructing and examining.
Unlike many groups, the JKA does not award grades lightly; each and every one of the students has worked extremely hard and their passes are well deserved.
As ever, there's always more to work on with technique, speed, power and spirit, so onward and upward.
Thanks to all who attended and helped out; it made for a positive day!

A fun celebration of ten years of the club.
Thank you to Sensei Adel, (our first grading examiner in 2016), who gave two great workshops; one for coloured belts, one for higher grades.
That built quite an appetite for the meal afterwards at The Fishes. Thank you everyone who attended, I hope you all enjoyed the experiences!
During the break, some extra hand-speed work just for fun.
