Hi everyone! Thank you to everybody who has expressed interest in running for a role on the committee for the upcoming year. We will be having elections at 3pm on Monday 19th September. Anyone who is a member of the club is welcome to attend, a link to the meeting will be published on the day.

We still have two roles for which there are currently no candidates: digital officer and social secretary. If you would be interested in applying for either of these then it is not too late, just drop Max (https://www.facebook.com/max.french.714049) a message!

Featuring our own Secretary and Women's Officer - Akshaya Kalaiyalahan

Introducing Katarzyna Toma, Louise Head and Akshaya Kalaiyalahan. We are delighted to announce that this trio of England Women International players will be making an appearance at Trafalgar Square on Sunday 18th July. Katarzyna holds the Woman Grandmaster title. Louise is a FIDE master and a former England Ladies Champion. Akshaya is also a FIDE Master and has twice been British Women’s Chess Champion. Come along and meet these top English chess ladies for a free lesson, or even challenge them in a simultaneous display.

Just a few of our successes in the past year include being awarded ECF ‘Club of the Year’- a testament to the hard work of the committee and the unparalleled enthusiasm of our club members. We hope to continue the momentum from Magnus Carlsen’s visit to the Oxford Union, so keep an eye out for more exciting events this term!
