We get it, being together in class is special. The music, the connection, the fun….
But for those days when life gets in the way, it’s good to know you’ve got another way to keep moving.
Our online sessions aren’t here to replace the face to face community, they are here to give you another readily available option when you need it.
Because moving your body (even a little) is always worth it. Right?
Do you want to know more about it? Send me a message.
We love hearing from our members!
Philippa shared how our online classes helped her stay active and connected, even when she couldn't leave the house.
From the morning "hellos" to that post-workout breakfast feeling, it’s all about showing up for yourself and each other.
Thank you Philippa!

According to the NHS, regular physical activity at any time of the day helps improve your strength, balance, mood, and overall wellbeing.
But did you know that the time you choose to move can influence how your body feels?
Morning:
Great for boosting energy and motivation.
Helps create structure in your day and can improve mental clarity.
Just make sure to warm up gently, especially if your joints feel stiff after sleeping.
Afternoon:
Your muscles are already warmed up, which can make movement feel easier.
You may have better flexibility and coordination later in the day.
Perfect if you enjoy a slower start to the morning.
The best time?
The one that fits your lifestyle.
That’s why, at Living in Fitness, we offer classes during both parts of the day:

Muscle strength is key to staying independent as we age.
According to the NHS, adults over 55 should aim to do strength exercises at least twice a week.
Today’s tip is a classic, simple, safe, and effective workout.
Slide through the post to learn how to do it at home.
And if you need a hand, we’re here to help.

This is why we train! 💪
Some exercises may look simple, even a little funny at first. Walking on a plank, for example.
Until real life asks for it.
Andy and Emma once told us about a moment in Scotland, where they faced a narrow, improvised bridge and crossed it with confidence and control.
That didn’t happen by chance. It was built, session by session.
Progress is personal, but it grows stronger in a community. 😉

Some days, balance just doesn’t feel the same… I know how frustrated our members can get about this.
What many people don’t realise is that this isn’t a sudden loss, but a gradual change in how the body communicates: muscles respond a bit slower, coordination needs more attention and stability becomes something we have to actively maintain.
Regular movement helps strengthen the muscles that support you, improves coordination, and keeps your body responsive in everyday situations. 🙌
Showing up to class is part of that process. Even on the days when it feels harder :) Or when its sunny outside and you’d rather chil outl lol.
Will I see you next class? 😉
Some days, balance feels easier than others… that’s completely normal.
This short video shares a few simple exercises you can do at home to help improve stability and confidence, one step at a time.
Let me know if you made it through (even a few minutes counts)😉.

The steering wheel is a simple exercise which strengthen the chest, shoulders and arms. 🛞
Step 1 - Preparation:
Stand tall (feet flat, shoulders relaxed).
Hold your hands out in front of you at chest height, whilst holding a weight
Keep wrists straight and elbows slightly bent.
Step 2 - Working out:
Rotate to the left and then to the right, as if turning a steering wheel.
How hard should it feel? Its a challenging exercise….
Aim for 6–7 out of 10 effort: strong work, but you can still breathe and talk.
😉💪
Why not try to do this exercise for one minute?

We have all heard that it’s important to stay hydrated
Dehydration affects our energy levels, concentration mood and more. Its even more important as we get older, and even more important to keep aware of as the days get warmer.
It doesn’t have to be just water. Teas, milks juices all count.
As a guide the NHS says you need to drink 6 to 8 cups or glasses of fluid a day.
So get drinking folks 😊
