This week’s challenge is entirely dependent on how the upcoming match of the FAR less popular sport football goes this Wednesday ⚽️

To get an extra 50pts this week, complete 20 reversals for each goal scored by the winning team at this Wednesay’s semi final match for the men’s FIFA World Cup ✨

Goodbye OUCofA hello OUCofVACAY ☀️

And with that, the 2025-26 student archery season comes to an end 🏹

Last weekend, three of our archers competed at BUCS Outdoor Championships, the last event of the student outdoor season. We’re so proud of everyone who competed this year, whether you went to one TOUCAN leg or represented OUCofA at every event we shot at. And if you were unsure about competing, here is your sign to give it a go in the next academic year!!

Some highlights from the weekend:
🥳 Roxie going to a mascot party, going missing, getting a call out to the whole field (“please return the sad, missing highland cow in a blue jumper to the DOS tent”), getting returned, and getting banned from ever going out on her own again
🌧️ For the first time in human history, a weekend with no rain at Lilleshall
🎶 A stunning but eclectic playlist (ft. Star Wars and Phantom of the Opera… for some reason)
🏅 3 head to head victories
🔟 2 top 10 finishes from Oxford
🤝 1 one arrow shoot off

The first of our Social Secs is Adam🐟 Possibly the most famous archer at Oxford, Adam has spent his novice year charming every team he meets into joining his personal fan club (not that the rest of us are bitter… it doesn’t do anything to our ego when people only ever want to talk to us to ask where Adam is) 🫶 Strengths include having the support of the whole Birmingham team. Weaknesses include… nothing actually?

Next up is the lovely Shiuli 🦋 Shiuli will be this year’s Coaching Officer so it’s up to her to keep the club on our coaches’ good sides 😮 voted (by me) as OUCofA’s most supportive teammate she multiplies the good vibes of any shoot by a million (at least). Strengths include singing George Michael, however she was formerly part of the dark side (read: Cambridge)

Coming back for another year on committee is EJ 🦕 EJ is responsible for running the instagram and writing these captions and feels really weird about writing in third person ✏️ This year I am the Welfare and IT Officer so will be helping with stress rather than causing it (see: last year’s role of Tournament’s Officer). Strengths: a thinly veiled barebow superiority complex (yay for an ounce of self confidence). Weaknesses: taking on 2 committee roles despite the fact that my degree finishes in June
