Over the weekend, 4 of our archers competed at BUCS Indoor finals in Warwick. It was an incredibly fun (and incredibly long) day that ended in 3 top 10 finishes: Emma Howes came 2nd in Women’s Recurve, Emily Summers came 5th in Women’s Recurve (and 4th in the qualification round), and E.J. Lord came 7th in Women’s Barebow.

We are SO proud of Emma for her performance, especially in the incredibly well fought gold medal match against Louisa Piper where she finished with a silver medal 🥈

That’s not the only medal Emma left Warwick with though as the Women’s Non-Compound Team (Emily Summers, Emma Howes, E.J. Lord) won bronze🥉

As BUCS wraps up the indoor season, we are super excited to be moving outdoors and preparing for next term’s competitions!

🏆TOUCAN Indoor Champs🏆

Over the weekend 10 of our archers competed at TOUCAN Indoor Champs and we are super happy to say we did not get dropped off at relegation station! Super proud of all of our archers who competed at the various TOUCAN legs - whether it was their 1st or 100th competition.

TOUCAN Champs saw some shooting from our archers that they should definitely be proud of - including a couple of personal bests! We’d especially like to commend Gurshinder Kaur for incredible improvement at this competition. E.J. Lord also left with a bronze medal in the Experienced Women’s Barebow category 🥉

For most of our archers, TOUCAN Champs marked the end of the indoor season and we’re really looking forward to taking you outdoors (especially for those shooting in the sun for the first time ☀️😎) and to those competing at BUCS Indoor finals next week - good luck!

It was a busy weekend for OUCofA!

On Saturday we had our annual dinner at Branca - thank you so much for hosting us! Huge congratulations to Vivian Xue and Sarah Webb for getting their green badges 💚 and to Emily Summers and Emma Howes for getting their gold badges 💛

Sunday saw grudge match hosted by Cambridge University Bowmen - it was lovely to see our friends at Cambridge and we can’t wait to face off again at varsity 🏹

Highlight of the weekend: driving though 86 roundabouts (or really 43 twice) on the way to and from Cambridge… over double the number of arrows we all shot

🧸TOUCAN Warwick🧸

Last weekend we were excited to attend the final pre-champs leg of TOUCAN in Warwick! Our non-compound team placed 3rd overall and E.J. Lord won bronze in Experienced Women’s Barebow 🥉

Next stop: grudge match!

🏹BUCS Southern Qualifiers🏹

We spent valentine’s day this year with our one true love (our bows) and while it’ll be another few weeks before we know who qualified, we are very proud of our archers who competed at this event

While this was not a medal awarding event, our non-compound women’s team (Emma Howes, Emily Summers, E.J. Lord) did exceptionally well, placing first amongst the Southern teams.

In Experienced Women’s Recurve, Emma Howes placed 2nd, and Emily Summers placed 4th.

In Experienced Women’s Barebow, E.J. Lord placed 2nd.

We especially proud of Sarah Webb (Novice Women’s Recurve) as this was her first record status shoot!

Finally, in Experienced Open Compound, Tianyi (Percy) Fu came 3rd.

Looking forward to finding out who will be competing at BUCS Finals and the next 3 weekends of competitions!

🐮TOUCAN Oxford🐮

This weekend we hosted Birmingham, Coventry, and Warwick for leg 2 of TOUCAN! Despite a chilly sports hall it was a lovely way to see everyone again after the winter break ❄️

Emma Howes took gold in Experienced Woman’s Recurve 🏆 and E.J. Lord took bronze in Experienced Women’s Barebow 🥉

We are especially proud of the archers for whom this was their first competition!! You all did amazingly and we hope you choose to compete again in the future :)

Also thank you to Emily’s mum for knitting our mascot Roxie a jumper, we’re happy she will be warm for our chilly competitions 🐮🧣

🐷TOUCAN Northampton🐷

We had a very cold start to the indoor season today at TOUCAN leg 1 hosted by Northampton ✨

In Experienced Open Recurve alum Alex Fido came first, followed by Quentin Delepine 🏹

Women’s Experienced Recurve saw Ecaterina Pogorenii take gold 🥇and Emma Howes take silver 🥈

In Experienced Women’s Barebow silver was won by E.J. Lord 🥈 and bronze was won by April Parker 🥉

We’re extra proud of our novices for their first tournament! In Open, Adebiyi Momoh won gold 🥇and Priyansh Gurjarati won silver 🥈. For novice women, Sarah Webb won gold 🥇, Gurshinder Kaur won silver 🥈, and Gina Birungi won bronze 🥉

We’re really proud of all our archers who competed today and are looking forward to the rest of the indoor season!!
