Today 11th April 2022 marks the 67th anniversary of the naming of our art. General Choi wisely asked the President of Korea Syngman Rhee to write Taekwon-Do in Chinese hanja as seen in the attached image, Syngman Rhee was known for his calligraphy, there can be no misinterpretation it says Taekwon-Do and nothing else and was confirmed with the signature of the President of Korea at the time.

I feel very privileged to have spent so much of my life with our Founder, General Choi Hong Hi and have so many fond memories to reminisce about.
It’s hard to believe that 19 years have gone by since General Choi’s passing. I have always said “life is short, art is long”, therefore it is of great importance that we continue his legacy and strive to live by our tenets, doing our best to build a more peaceful world.
