Well done again to our U15 Girls 🏆💪🏼🏰

🏆 The sunny season for the Devon Women's Softball League and Devon Girls’ Cricket League came to an end on Sunday with the Finals for the girls’ divisions and the women's hardball pairs at Teignmouth & Shaldon Cricket Club.

🗣️ "It has been another fantastic season with excellent weather and some superb cricket. Thanks have to go to all the volunteers and officials who ensure the games are played; they are the lifeblood of the game."

Huge congratulations to our U15 Girls on being crowned Devon Champions. After being restricted to 93 runs, the girls were outstanding in the field stopping pretty much everything that came their way and taking some great catches to win by 17 runs. The win follows on from an undefeated winter indoor league which they won and then a fantastic summer campaign winning the South/ South West league with 8 wins from 9. An extra well done to Sophie who was named as the league’s batter and bowler of the season.

Good luck to our U15 girls this Saturday as the take on Exeter on ‘Finals Day’. The girls have been excellent all season and we wish them all the best. Whatever the result, they are all amazing and a credit to our club. Anyone wanting to come and support, start time is 9:30 at Teignmouth & Shaldon 🤞 🏏 🤞 🏏

Paignton Cricket Club Juniors — 2026 Season Report

The 2026 season has been another positive and enjoyable year for Paignton Cricket Club Juniors.

Our junior section has continued to grow, with players of all ages and abilities getting involved in training, matches and club activities. Across the age groups, the focus has remained on developing cricketing skills, building confidence and, most importantly, enjoying the game.

We have seen some excellent individual and team performances throughout the season, with our junior players showing great enthusiasm, commitment and sportsmanship. It has also been particularly encouraging to see players progressing through the age groups and taking on greater responsibility within their teams.

A huge thank you goes to all of our volunteer coaches, team managers and helpers for the time and effort they have given throughout the season. Their contribution is vital to the continued success of junior cricket at Paignton.

We would also like to thank the parents and families for their fantastic support, whether travelling to matches, helping at training or supporting the club behind the scenes.

Most importantly, well done to all of our junior players. Your enthusiasm, effort and team spirit have made 2026 a season to be proud of.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back for another exciting season in 2027.

The curtain came down on the 2026 season for our ladies’ section this Sunday. Our hardball side were narrowly defeated up at North Devon by 22 runs. Highlights were 4 wickets for Jemima and a couple for young gun, Eva Smith – and with the bat, 49 for skipper Hollie, and a great knock of 60 (including a forward defensive shot) from Emily Roberts. 🏏

Meanwhile, our softball ladies were defeated in the county softball semis by Bridstowe and Belstone, over at Cornwood, having won their local league. 🏏🙌

It is fantastic to have had 19 ladies out playing cricket on the last day of the summer🔥, and brilliant that our softballers finished 3rd in Devon 🔥 and our hardballers were 4th in the county.🔥

Thank you to Steph and Hollie, whose commitment captaining the sides has been a key part of their achievements this year. Well done to the 30+ players who have represented Paignton so well. 🏆👏🏏

Congratulations to Paignton stalwart, Stephen George, on making the England Disability final with the Hawks. The game is due to take place at Sophia Gardens on 17th September, before the England v Sri Lanka T20.

Stephen was a member of Paignton’s 2005 and 2026 Devon Prem winning sides – and has represented England for over two decades, winning England Disability Cricketer of the Year in 2014.
