🌊 Teignmouth Coastal Regatta – Parsons & Gallop 🚣‍♀️

Another great day of coastal racing for Paignton Amateur Rowing Club, taking on the Parsons & Gallop hosted by Teignmouth Rowing Club on Saturday 5th September.

Our women’s double put in a strong performance over the long, hot 7km coastal course, battling it out against crews from Exmouth, Carrick and Teignmouth.
🥉 Women’s Double Sculls – 3rd
A tough endurance race and another valuable result for PARC as we continue building our experience on the coastal racing circuit. 💪🌊

A big thank you to River Teign Rowing Club, the race officials, volunteers and everyone involved in putting on a fantastic day of racing.

Well done to all the crews who took on the course!

We have another one of our fantastic fundraising quiz nights coming up. Join us at Cantina on 2nd October.

☀️ THURSDAY- FINE BOAT RACING

A sunny morning gave way to more challenging windy conditions in the afternoon, but our juniors rose to the challenge, putting in stoic performances to be proud of against competitors at the top end of their age groups.

🥇 1st - Mixed Double Sculls
4th - Novice Coxed Quadruple Sculls – racing as a combined crew with
5th - Mixed Coxed Quadruple Sculls

And away from the rowing...

🥇 Men’s Tug of War – with a combined men’s and ladies team, The Vikings – Coombe Tuggers! 💪

A huge team effort across the whole regatta. Special thanks to Alan for transporting the boats, Jane for coxing the quads and encouraging us forwards, and Torquay RC for their support and collaboration.

Most importantly, a big shout-out to the collective PARC team spirit throughout the event. 💙

Thank you to the team at Dartmouth for the fabulous logistical effort involved in putting on another excellent regatta, alongside the race officials, organisers, volunteers and everyone else who made the racing run so smoothly.

👏 Congratulations to all the crews, competitors and race winners.

Farewell for now, Dartmouth — we’ll be back next year! 🚣🌊

‘Full speed ahead in Torbay’

In difficult conditions on the water, PARC junior competitors showed their best colours at Torbay Royal Regatta resulting in some great performances:

🥈in the male singles
🥈in the female doubles
4th and 5th in the female singles

In extremely close races our juniors keep closing the gap on their competitors, showing great resilience and determination.

Congratulations to all the regatta winners and all the other entrants who took part to make it such a fantastic day of rowing. Thanks to all the race officials, coaches, support crew and spectators who made it such a super event.

Thanks to Torquay Rowing Club for hosting another great regatta, hopefully we’ll be back with you again next year. Onto the next events in Dartmouth!
