SCOUTING SHOWCASE — SOLD OUT
All available places for our September scouting showcase at Benburb Juniors have now been filled.
Due to the level of demand, we have opened a waiting list. If a place becomes available within the appropriate age group, we will contact parents directly.
Joining the waiting list does not guarantee a place at the event.

Maturation doesn’t tell us how good a player will become. It gives us more information to help develop the player in front of us.
Two players can be the same age but be at very different stages of biological development. Understanding those differences can help us make better-informed decisions around training, physical development, playing opportunities and the overall player pathway.
That’s exactly what our Growth & Maturation Testing event is designed to provide more information, more context and a better understanding of the individual player.

SCOUTING SHOWCASE — BOOKING NOW OPEN
The Soccer Lab Glasgow Scouting Showcase returns on Monday 28 September at Benburb Juniors.
A wide range of professional clubs will be represented, with headline clubs attending including:
Rangers FC
St Mirren
Kilmarnock
Falkirk
Greenock Morton
The showcase gives young players the opportunity to perform in competitive, age-appropriate games in front of professional club scouts.
Previous SoccerLab showcases have created opportunities for players to progress into professional academy environments.

Another SoccerLab Showcase Success
A massive well done to Jack (2018), who has joined Kilmarnock FC after being identified following our SoccerLab Scouting Showcase.
Brilliant to see another young player getting an opportunity to step into an academy environment.
The purpose of our showcases is simple , give talented young players the opportunity to play, express themselves and be seen by people within the professional game.

MEET THE EXPERT | RUARIDH MACKAY
We’re delighted to have Ruaridh MacKay delivering our Growth & Maturation Testing on 6th September.
Ruaridh brings extensive experience from elite youth football, including several years within Rangers FC’s Academy, alongside PhD research through the University of Birmingham.
His research has included growth and maturation within youth football, combining academic expertise with first-hand experience of player development within an elite academy environment.
The testing will help players and parents better understand where they currently sit within their physical development, including:
• Current stage of maturation
• Predicted adult height
• Individual information to help better understand their development
The aim isn’t to judge players on their current size, strength or speed. It’s to provide better information about the individual behind the performance.

⚽️ How physically mature is your child for their age?
On Sunday 6th September, we’re running a Growth & Maturation Testing Event at The Soccer Lab.
Players will take part in a football session alongside physical testing to help identify:
📈 Where they currently are in their maturation
📏 Their predicted adult height
🧬 How physically developed they are relative to their age
Young players develop at very different rates, and understanding this can give parents and coaches much better context around a player’s current physical development and performance.

Where is your child in their growth and maturation journey?
On Sunday 6th September, SoccerLab will be hosting a specialist Growth & Maturation Testing event designed to give young players and parents a better understanding of their current stage of physical development.
Players will receive insight into:
📊 Current maturation status
📈 Where they are in their growth journey
📏 Predicted adult height
📐 Percentage of predicted adult height achieved
Each player will take part in a 1-hour session, combining 30 minutes of football with 30 minutes of testing.
Understanding maturation can provide important context when looking at a young player’s physical development — particularly when comparing players of the same chronological age who may be at very different stages of growth.
