Last week we trained on a “worst case scenario”
You fall or get knocked to the ground.
Your attacker tries to kick you.
Obviously dangerous.
Potentially lethal.
No time for any complex techniques.
So we trained:
Move your head away and use your arms as a safety cage for your head
Feet towards danger
Kick to make space
Get up safely and escape as soon as possible
We CAN help YOU better prepare for these and other worst case situations.

Protecting others. One of the unique things about Krav Maga is that we address protecting others from the start.
We teach and relentlessly practice avoiding fighting. Talk, de-escalate, leave, swallow your ego if necessary - and go home safe.
What if you have a friend or family member with you? How do you quickly evacuate them from a bad situation?
What if they are the one involved in an altercation or where things are escalating but they have not appreciated the possibility of weapons or other participants?
This week we trained on all these issues. Removing loved ones from danger, overcoming their freeze response, how to go “hands on” if we have no other choice.

This weeks training focused on what you should do if you get grabbed.
We need a sensible immediate reaction - raise your hands. This buys us time to figure out what is happening, ask questions, de-escalate and prevent a surprise headbutt.
We trained using our voice, remaining calm and disengaging safely - avoiding a fight is a victory.
Going home safe is the ultimate win.
We learned to use leverage and movement to release a wrist grab even with larger, stronger opponents.
We also trained for more dangerous situations - a punch is thrown, we are pushed or pulled. We scaled our responses, can I push, disengage and warn, or do I have to strike to escape.
We help you learn to do these things. Sign up for a trial using the link in our bio.

Last week we worked on what do if we end up on the ground during an altercation.
This is not about grappling or sport.
If we are on the ground something has already gone badly wrong.
We’ve been hit, thrown or pushed over.
As long as we are there, we are in terrible danger. Kicks, stomps, getting pinned.
We don’t think about fancy moves but simply making space to get up and escape.
Kicks to knees and shins. Up kicks to the body or face.
Moving our body effectively, away from danger.
Creating a chance to get up and get away.
Can we help you learn how to function in the worst of circumstances?
