Four salmon recorded this week, and we have rising (2’3”)and coloured water this morning and lots of leaves. Tricky conditions but it’s still possible to catch…..hopefully water will settle for next week.

To add to Kevin Arkless’s fish yesterday, we had a grilse reported by David Jacob and one other fish lost. The smallest rise in water can make a difference. We heard that fish were running as light faded so it’s always worth fishing until last light.
Well done to Kevin Arkless who had a 17 pounder today after a very small rise in water. It’s been a difficult season with prolonged drought and less fish up here than we are used to. Despite that, anglers are persisting and getting the odd fish.
2’10” and rising this morning. Great news and will no doubt bring fish up and improve the fishing. 🎣
We’ve been plagued by ongoing low water, despite that a few fish have been winkled out.
Iain Bain and Stuart Robb have managed a couple of salmon (best 12lb) and three sea trout (best 5lb).
Hopefully storm Amy will bring some much needed rain to the river soon.
Well done to Colin Barwell who caught two sea trout yesterday, 3lb and 5lb.
There was a small lift in water yesterday and fish are being reported caught not far below us, with some nice sea trout showing up. Showers forecast for the next few days which can only help.
