Discover how our Autism Friendly Swimming Programme at Ynysawdre Swimming Pool is making water sports accessible, safe, and enjoyable for neurodiverse swimmers.

Led by expert instructors, our tailored sessions feature an adjusted pool environment to support every swimmer's needs. The lessons combine empathetic, highly adaptable teaching with clear visual and verbal demonstrations, helping swimmers build essential water safety skills, gain confidence, and enjoy the water comfortably alongside others.

The programme also empowers parents and carers with the practical knowledge and techniques needed to enjoy stress-free, safe family visits to the pool. As one local grandmother shared, the supportive setup gave her grandson the confidence to enter the pool independently and helped her safely take him swimming every week.
