Duo to take temporary charge of Penrith AFC men’s first team.

Penrith Football Club are delighted to announce that Danny Grainger and Richard Prokas will take charge of the men’s first team, on an interim basis, with immediate effect.

Former professional players Danny and Richard, who both hail from Penrith, have been appointed on a temporary basis. Their arrival follows the decision of previous manager Jim Nichols and his assistant, Alan Inglis, to step down last weekend.

Danny and Richard will be in the dugout for Penrith’s eagerly anticipated FA Vase first round proper Cumbrian derby against Carlisle City FC at Frenchfield Park on Saturday.

A permanent appointment will be announced in due course. “Penrith Football Club is at the heart of our community and you always want to see the local team doing well,” says Danny. “It’s important for us all to make sure the club is looked after. Being local lads, me and Rich feel it is right for us to step up and do what we can in the short term. Hopefully it gives the club a bit of breathing space.”

Anyone interested in applying for the role of permanent first team manager can contact the club by email: [email protected]
