today we welcomed dunfermline to the acres for the regional cup.
we knew rite from the start due to injuries and suspensions it was goin to be a tough day at the office but this got worse when we only had 10 players turn up 😩
dunfermline didn’t hang back and came rite for blood we had a few good spells in the game and some of the lads never gave up but sorry to say it was just a bit much and some let it get to them but this is a learning curve that we wil deal with
🏆motm went to ola the lad is one of the newest members of the squad and the lad never gave up til the final whistle some great defensive work but also some great drives forward not easy when the game is very one sided so well done kid

away to arbroath this afternoon
boys were slow to start today but after about 15 mins we started to really settle in to the game had plenty chances with some great save from arbroath keeper, hitting the wood work a couple times but on 32mins some great play seen a well worked ball to our strikers feet who let a cracking shot away but keeper had a great save but pickle was in quick with a lovely shot into top corner 0-1
we were now pushing on 37mins calum was played in with a lovely weighted ball letting him touch and finish clean to bottom corner leaving the keeper little chance 0-2.
after centre the lads were keen to close down and unfortunately seen banksy come together with an arbroath player resulting in an injured arbroath player and banks shown the red card.
2nd half we 10 men and no available subs the lads knew we had preform and on 47mins cal and cole worked a lovely wee ball in for cal to slot home 0-3, lads were in full flow now and on 60 mins the inform cal was on the end of a long ball from rocco and blasted it home 0-4
63mins cole brings down a high ball just outside the box and lets it go on half volly for an absolute cracker of goal well deserved as he’s been very unselfish all game 0-5
game gets a bit scrappy and after being pushed broon retaliated with a push back seeing both players booked but broon’s second yellow so he sees the red,
9 men comfortably in lead but the lads still wanted to keep the tempo high and that seen the defence in a high line and jacob seeing cal up top wide n unmarked played a lovey trough ball rite in front of him and confidence high cal drives forward to on rushing keeper and a lovely chip over and in to the net on 73mins 0-6.
with 3 mins left a wee bit of fatigue kicked in and a sloppy pass back ended up in our own net 🙈 arbroath never gave up and in the last min again probably due to tired legs a foul in the box gave them a penalty the keeper was close but full time 2-6

massive well done to everyone today low on numbers and down to 9 they gave it there all

first home game of the season today,
wil keep it short n sweet the lads were excellent today some really nice football and some cracking finishing from cole and calum solid at the back and midfield lads were everywhere.

finally the season got off and running for us last nite with an away trip to kirrie thistle.
the game started like something off a game of fifa with 4 goals in under 15 mins split between both sides x2 for the inform callum both with assists from taylor(the lads were a bit excited i think) game then settled into us moving the ball a bit better keeping possession and seeing us breaking through missing a few more chances from conner and rocco and cole, taylor put us ahead 3-2 with a great follow up and finish at this point the team were starting to play some nice football kirrie were always closing down well and making it difficult with 5 mins of first half left kirrie won a free kick on edge of the box and there player with a touch of class left our keeper with no chance putting it top corner HT 3-3
good half time chat took on by the lads and definitely game of 2 half’s much more controlled and settled by the squad better shape again calum opened the scoring early on 4-3, good pressure by us and dealing better with long balls seen callum get another lovely goal from 4 or 5 cutting passes through a tight line of defenders5-3, we kept pressing resulting in a good few corners and this time it was hayden finding the back of the net 6-3
again young conner was close 2 or 3 times taylor the same new signing charlie had 1 just wide jacob came close young broon flew 1 just over the bar but again calum got the end of a cross from conner for our final goal 7-3
well done lads it’s not been easy keep working hared and enjoying the lovely game.

second pre season game under our belt today good 80 mins for the boys legs, some good football played couple lads getting there first run about for letham aswel today, 1 more friendly to go b4 the start of the season and ofcourse the traditional lads n dads (family) bonding day out 🫡

today seen us get a wee training game under our belt some new players a new coach and playing a decent team and to say we were more than happy at how well the lads done is an understatement. new captain roco keeping the lads playing at at high tempo new keeper showing he’s goin be a big part of the squad every player giving 100% for eachother no egos no moaning just a solid team preformace, the rebuild keeps on goin but we are happy at how it’s goin so far 🧡 mon the letham 🧡

as we break off for a short break for the lads b4 the fun of pre season starts we are stil keen to bring in a goal keeper or maybe 2 to the squad so any unatached or keepers thinking of a new challenge give us a shout

as we near the end of our season we are putting out a wee message to any unatched players or anyone thinking of trying something different that we are looking to add a few body’s the squad.
we are keen to add a goal keeper to the ranks and happy to welcome a few more outfield players to boost numbers,
we wil be playing in ddyfa 2nd division.

Today we were the visitors out at Newburgh for what we expected to be a difficult game. With a run of poor form on our side and with Newburgh running us close a few weeks ago we knew we had a game on our hands.

Into the first half play was pretty 50 / 50 with both sides having chances 20 mins in Newburgh get a free kick. There player has a crack at goal but the ball bounces just infront of Jacob his his chest and lands right a Newburgh players feet who slots it home.

Against a swirling wind we played some nice football creating plenty chances but couldn't find a way past the Newburgh keeper.

Half time
Newburgh 1 - 0 sky blues

We changed a few things at half time and asked the boys to not sit so deep and try and keep our opponents penned in. Also to get the ball on the deck and play football.

Second half kicks off straight away we knock it about and taz is though on goal but shot goes wide.

The boys really put into practice what we asked of them with Newburgh not causing us any real trouble. The first 15 mins into the second half we could of had about 4 easily. But the Newburgh goal keeper was having a blinder.

45 mins in some great determination from rocco finds himself in the box and gets pulled down. Penalty.
Rocco Stepps up and slips it away.

50 mins in Rocco again gets brought down in the box.
The big man takes the ball again and makes it 2-1 sky blues.

56 mins in Newburgh are through on goal Callum being last man miss times his tackle and is shown a red card.

Down to 10 men we shuffled things about a bit buy the boys dug in and were still creating plenty chances.

Archie beats his man on the left side his coss is over hit, but Taz collects the ball crosses to the back post and Konner heads it home.

Taz with some great work down the right beats his man, cuts it back finds Konner on the penalty spot, Konner has a crack but its going wide till Archie nips in at the back post to tuck it away.

A cracking ball gets played through to Connor 1 on 1 with the keeper the wee man makes no mistakes and slots it home.

Not a great first half showing from the lads, but massive improvements in the second. If it wasn't for an inform Newburgh keeper we could of had a few more for sure.
