đ„ CLIENT SPOTLIGHT â TIM'S JOURNEY đ„
Meet Tim đ
"Honestly, before I started, I wasn't ready to start."
That might sound strange, but for Tim, making the decision to join wasn't about finding the perfect timeâit was about being truly committed.
Like many people, taking that first step through the door felt nerve-wracking. But those nerves quickly disappeared.
"The first impressions were that there are many different people that use the gym, all ages and fitness levels, and I felt at home from the start. It just has a warm feeling about the place."
Since joining, Tim has made one thing non-negotiable: attending at least two sessions every week.
That consistency is now paying off.
đȘ Increased strength
đ Improved measurements
⥠More energy
đŻ Better focus
"Some sessions are better than others, but that's fine. An average session is better than no session!"
Not only has Tim stuck to his sessions, but he's also added extra training on his own and embraced our Summer Shred Challenge, becoming more accountable with nutrition and lifestyle habits.
The biggest change?
"I genuinely have more energy and more focus to achieve my goals."
As he entered his mid-forties, Tim wanted to create better habitsânot just for himself, but for his family too.
"As the week goes on, I look forward to getting back in the gym and always feel better afterwards."
His advice to anyone thinking about starting?
â Commit to yourself.
â Keep showing up.
â Get through the door.
"The wonderful trainers will sort you out. The amount of encouragement you get from the other people in the sessions surprised me, and it adds so much to the experience. It really has such a good family feel about the place."
Tim, we're incredibly proud of the progress you've made so far. Your consistency, commitment and attitude are a great example of what can happen when you simply keep turning up.
đ Keep up the fantastic work, Tim!

Your environment can influence your success more than your motivation.
When youâre surrounded by people who support your goals, everything becomes easier.
The days you donât feel like training?
Someone encourages you.
The days you doubt yourself?
Someone reminds you how far youâve come.
Studies show that social support can significantly improve exercise adherence and long-term success.
Fitness isnât just about workouts.
Itâs about belonging somewhere that wants to see you succeed.
At Ladeside, every member starts somewhere.
No judgement.
No intimidation.
Just support.
Because nobody achieves great things alone.

You canât out-train poor nutrition.
Exercise is important, but what happens outside the gym matters too.
Good nutrition isnât about restriction.
Itâs about fuelling your body properly.
The basics work:
đ„© Prioritise protein
đ„Š Eat plenty of fruit and vegetables
đ§ Stay hydrated
đ Include carbohydrates to fuel activity
đŽ Support recovery with quality sleep
The people who achieve lasting results arenât following extreme diets.
Theyâre building habits they can maintain for years.
Small changes repeated consistently will always beat perfection for a few weeks.
What is one healthy habit youâre working on right now?

Strength Training
One of the biggest misconceptions in fitness is that you need endless cardio to get results.
Strength training is one of the most effective things you can do for your health.
Regular strength training can:
â
Increase muscle mass
â
Improve bone density
â
Boost metabolism
â
Improve everyday movement and function
â
Help maintain independence as we age
The best part?
You donât need to be lifting huge weights.
Progress comes from gradually challenging yourself and becoming stronger than you were yesterday.
Every rep completed.
Every weight increased.
Every session attended.
It all adds up.
Strong isnât a look.
Strong is a lifestyle.

Your Why
The people who succeed arenât always the most motivated. Theyâre the ones with a reason thatâs strong enough to keep them going when motivation disappears.
Your âwhyâ is the reason you started.
Maybe itâs to have more energy for your children.
Maybe itâs to feel confident again.
Maybe itâs to improve your health.
Maybe itâs simply to prove to yourself that you can.
Research consistently shows that people who connect their exercise routine to a meaningful personal goal are more likely to stick with it long term.
The scale might not move every week.
Life will get busy.
There will be days when you donât feel like training.
Your why is what gets you through those moments.
Before you focus on where you want to be, remind yourself why you started.
Whatâs your why?
đ Tell us in the comments.

Change doesnât happen overnight.
And truthfully?
The changes that last the longest usually take the most time.
Expecting your whole life, body, confidence, and routine to completely transform in 6 or 8 weeks just isnât realistic.
Our habits, routines, and lifestyles have often been built over yearsâso changing them takes patience, consistency, and support.
Thatâs why the first things we focus on with our clients are always:
âïž Habits
âïž Training
âïž Consistency
Not extremes.
Not cutting everything out.
Not trying to be perfect.
Just building a lifestyle that works for you long term.
Because the real achievement isnât a quick fix.
Itâs looking back 6 months, 1 year, 2 years from now and realising how far youâve comeânot just physically, but mentally too.
If youâre ready to start, now is your time
