She creates fabrics and wallpapers based on her handmade prints. These are produced on her heritage printing press, which is hefted by hand!

The The McManus: Dundee's Art Gallery & Museum has a great exhibition on just now. Curtain Call: Costumes from Stage and Screen showcases costume designers associated with Dundee. Some stunning artwork and beautifully made clothing on display. The McManus is free, and has lots of other exhibitions suitable for husbands/kids who have no interest in costume design!

Over the Easter holidays, I loved hosting a workshop for the neighbours kids. We all get together each set of holidays and do an activity together. While I think there is a place for digital art, I love the rich colours produced by oil inks, and the textures created by lifting these inks onto paper from a woodcut. Look at the difference between my original digital image of a parakeet, and the final two colour ink print on paper. It's National Handmade Day today! It seeks to honour and recognise hand made creations - and it's the perfect reason to indulge your own creativity today, however you express it. Here's a short movie of me printing up a two colour woodcut parakeet.
Here in Scotland during Spring, male pheasants can become very aggressive and territorial. This pheasant patrols the woodland cemetery where my Dad is buried. Ted the terrier and I had to sneak around to visit his grave. When the pheasant re-encountered us, he chased us out the gate and down the road! Despite his bald head, he was very handsome.
