Sammy Linford took 4 wickets against Stamford Town in an excellent spell of bowling, two caught behind and a bowled two, setting up a great win.

Sammy followed the performance up with 2 more wickets last Saturday at Castor, at just 1.78 runs an over, making a fast start to life at Holme!

Mixed fortunes over the last couple of weeks for Holme Cricket Club.

We had victories against Billingborough and Stamford Town, but unfortunately fell to a 59-run defeat to Castor & Ailsworth on Saturday.

We’ve been quiet on social media, this week we will bring your the highlights of the players that reached milestones!

Holme lost to Stamford Town ⚫️🟡

A defeat for Holme, as we fall to Stamford Town by 6 wickets. Winning the toss and batting, Holme posted 188.

An early wobble meant opening batter Michael Walker had to dig in and grafted for another half-century! Joined by Nick Bradbury who scored 50 in a great partnership with Michael Walker securing the innings with a 93-run partnership! Some late runs added by Elliot Brewer and Mo Ali saw us reach 188.

Elliot Brewer bowled a brilliant opening spell with the new ball. Gary Borrett got the breakthrough, ending the 50+ run opening stand for Stamford. With Will Evans bowling a fantastic 9 over spell in the middle over, Stamford batted really well and sealed victory.

Holme win opening Holme game ⚫️🟡

Holme won the toss and batted in our first home game of the season at the Manor, Whittlesey. Holme posted 219/4 from their 45 overs! The highlight of the batting was the partnership between Michael Walker and Andy Larkin, 164 run partnership! Finished off by some quick scoring by Will Evans!

Andy Larkin scored a brilliant first ton for the club, scoring 118 from 104 balls, including 17 boundaries! Congratulations to Andy 💯

Michael Walker added another half century to the tally scoring a brilliant 56 in a gritty battle against the new ball, combining with Larkin to take us past 200! 🏏

With the ball, Chloe Sainsbury and Bijoy Joseph were brilliant with the new ball again taking a combined 4 for 46! Nick Bradbury continued his good form with the ball, an unplayable spell taking 3 wickets! Elliot Brewer and Jikson Abraham finished the job off to claim the victory just in time before the rain 🌧️
