Calling all pregnant lasses, new mums, and their partners. Behind these here squares we are working our hot-sauce butts off to prevent further restrictions on antenatal, labour and postnatal wards. We will soon be releasing an updated sheet on current restrictions at all hospital trusts but in the meantime - WE NEED YOU! Can you please complete the survey linked to below so we can get a better picture of what is going on and how it is affecting you and your birth partner. We will use this info to put pressure on those in charge. Please chuck us an emoji below to ensure as many folk see this as possible and share with your pregnant chums.

flash back! its crazy to think this was 5 years ago. I love this image for so many reasons, being bridesmaid at my best friend's wedding (Happy anniversary Emma!) and getting to share my pregnancy journey with Talya. but looking at it today I realised just how well you can see the changes to my body during pregnancy. this was about 6 months in for me, 7 for Talya. and you can see the curve in my lower back (Lordosis) and the rounding and curving of my shoulders and neck causing my head to stick out further (Kyphosis). These are the changes that cause aches and pains as different muscles switch on and off and this is why certain exercises and movements should be avoided during pregnancy to prevent injury and others should always be included to help ease aches. 😊
ok I'll stop geeking out now! 🙈

🥲 the aim of parenting is to be left behind
My son left for uni with the perfect masher, but it was never actually about potatoes | Sarah Ditum
Preparing a child to begin their own life in the world is the aim of parenting, but success can somewhat sting

Why is it more socially acceptable for raccoon mums to want time out?

Oh, love this! We were talking yesterday about when babies want milk but don’t want milk. My example is when we want the chocolate but we don’t want the chocolate!
Breastfeeding is about many many things, and comfort for your baby is absolutely one. This is not a bad thing.
Let me say that louder for those in the back....
"Just" comforting babies is not a bad thing.
We have been conditioned (read: brainwashed) into a leftover Victorian set of beliefs that babies and children should be happy and content little souls providing they're not hungry or wet. Well, newsflash...nope! As adults we have a complex array of measures we use for comfort (some healthier than others 😬) to feel safe and well.
Babies are no different. In all honesty their needs are less complex than ours...and b**b pretty much fixes all.
Don't buy into the belief that you can give too much love or too much comfort to your baby.

I know I bang on about scouts quite a bit but I have to share this news with you! 4&5 year olds can soon start scouting with the introduction of a new section called Squirrels!
Also if you think you’d be interested in becoming a leader then I’m sure there will be plenty of opportunities. Full training is provided (and includes first aid and safeguarding which come in handy when looking to get back to work… or for being an awesome fitness instructor 💁🏻♀️)
Welcome to Squirrels from Bear Grylls

It’s going to be another warm day today. Please bring your mat so we can do some floor work in the shade and still pack in a great workout 😊
