After a busy past few weekends and work keeping me busy throughout the week I was very much in need of a quiet weekend this weekend to recharge🔋
And with the weather being rubbish it was just ideal🙌
I had a walk in the rain on Saturday after work☔️
Then a wee 40 winks after lunchtime💤
Then baked some chocolate brownies (which I have to say turned out not too badly even if I do say so myself👌)
And sat with a cuppa an caught up with The Great British Bake Off📺
All in all a perfect day if you ask me🤗
Followed by a quiet Sunday of grappling then chilling out🙌
Just the quiet weekend I was needing to set me up for this week💪
And the bonus is I now have plenty of brownies to keep me going too!😋
I hope everyone is having a fantastic week so far😁

So what actually happens in a PT session with me?🤔
Here’s a wee snapshot of some of the things I’ve done with clients this week in their 1-2-1 sessions…
🔥 Pushed clients to hit new PBs
💪 Taught new exercises
🤕 Adapted sessions around injuries
🗣️ Given some advice and support for outwith the gym
👂 Listened to struggles, stressed and life situations going on in clients lives
Yes a lot of the time it’s about teaching and showing my clients how to exercise and push themselves
But a lot of the time we adapt as we go so if someone is needing to talk a bit more they can, if someone is going to benefit more from stretching rather than lifting heavy we’ll do that and if someone is struggling with something outwith the gym we can put our heads together to overcome that obstacle

I had a busy weekend this weekend🐝
So busy I forgot to post on Saturday when I meant to

You know how the saying goes
If you don’t have a dog get a dog
Well if you can’t get a dog because your landlord doesn’t allow pets (sad times😢)
The next best solution is
Borrow someone else’s dog😉

“For me coming to the 3 days a week has became my home away from home! It’s a space I can come in de-stress from work in a fun and friendly environment!!
The biggest impact since signing up with Shona is definitely body confidence and confidence within the gym environment entirely. Before I would never train without wearing a massive hoodie or even outside the gym I would wear a hoodie/jumper, now I’ve gained loads of confidence in myself and barely wear a jumper to cover up!
Couldn’t imagine not coming to gym every week!”

At Devoted 2 Coaching we often speak about how you can still enjoy having a social life while achieving your goals
Which I still stand by
And a lot of our clients do successfully
But it’s not down to chance
It’s because they implement certain things around that social event that allows them to have the best of both worlds
Things like…
Drinking plenty of water to stay hydrated💧
Getting some sort of movement in👣
Not over restricting to compensate but focusing on things they can include in their diet that was maybe lacking🍽️
Nothing fancy or over complicated
But things that allow them to have fun and enjoy social occasions and also continue to make progress✅
