Boddam United exited the Scottish Welfare FA Cup yesterday following a narrow defeat against last years finalists Deanston Fc.

Boddam started the match well, passing the ball well and putting the Deanston defence under pressure. Ross Penny was close to giving Boddam the lead when he lobbed the goalkeeper, but the effort fell narrowly off target. Deanston took the lead against the run of play, when goalkeeper Ryan Leys touched a shot onto the post but the ball fell perfectly a yard out for the Deanston player to tap the ball in and make it 1-0. Boddam continued to press for the equaliser but went in at the break a goal down.
Boddam started the 2nd half slowly and found them 3-0 down by the hour mark. Boddam found a new lease of life and didn't give up. They kept pushing and got their rewards through goals from substitutes Aaron Seivwright and Alex Fyvie. Boddam finished the match strongly but could not find the goal to take it to penalties.
