⚽️ MINTLAW BOYS CLUB – MAKING A DIFFERENCE! 💙🤍

✅ 11-a-side pitch moved and enlarged
✅ Pavilion floodlights upgraded
✅ 7-a-side goals and nets installed for community use

Mintlaw Boys Club has been busy over the past few months! Since becoming a SCIO, we’ve been working hard to make improvements at Mintlaw Pleasure Park — and we’re definitely not finished yet! 👀

The 11-a-side pitch has been moved and enlarged to accommodate the newly formed Mintlaw Amateurs men’s team Mintlaw AFC, as well as our older age groups, the 2010s and 2011s.

A huge thank you to Graeme Michie and Craig Strachan for generously replacing the pavilion floodlights with new LED lights 💡👏

Thank you also to Stanley Johnstone for donating the 7-a-side goals, Martin Buchan & Chris Anderson for installing them, and of course the same females for doing all the donkey work! 🤣🙈

These improvements are a brilliant example of what can be achieved when a community pulls together. 💙

They’ll benefit children and players from across the area, and we truly appreciate every single contribution — whether someone gives an hour, a day or a whole year of their time.

There’s plenty more to come…

👀 Keep your eyes peeled for what Mintlaw Boys Club has planned next! ⚽️💙🤍

💙⚽ A HUGE THANK YOU TO QUANTUS! ⚽💙

MBC 2013s would like to say a massive thank you to Quantus for sponsoring their fantastic new home and training kits! 👕💙

The team also had a brilliant time being shown around the amazing Quantus fishing boat 🚢🎣 — definitely an experience the boys won’t forget!

And it looks like the new strips brought them a little luck this weekend! 🍀💙

The boys faced Invergordon in the 2nd Round of the Scottish Cup and, after a brilliant performance, they have progressed through to the 3rd Round! 🏆🙌

A huge well done to all the boys — what a fantastic achievement! 👏👏

Thank you again to Quantus for your amazing support of our team. 💙

Well done, boys! ⚽💙🤍

Mintlaw 2010s kicked off today’s Scottish cup second round tie v local rivals Mormond at the Mintlaw Pavillion pitch.

Mintlaw opened the scoring in the 10th minute of the game from a corner when a neat back heel from Ollie Morrison was proded home by Jackson Cross.

Mintlaw should have doubled there lead after a shot by Codi Summers was parried out by the Mormond keeper and somehow the ball didn’t cross the line after it was scrambled clear.

The game then changed as Mintlaw were reduced to 10 men on the half hour mark.

Mormond took advantage of this and scored twice before HT.

HT 1 v 2

Second half proved to be far too much for the 2010s with 10 men as they were well beaten in the end, with Mormond scoring 4 in the second half for a deserved win.

We wish Mormond all the best in the 3rd round of the Scottish cup.

FT 1 v 6

First 25 minutes Mintlaw were probably the better side, but they had no answer after that.

MOTM today was Jackson Cross ( CMC Stays) , who held the ball up well, was committed to taking on defenders and was positive in possession.

Mintlaw 2010s kicked off today away to Middlefield Wasps on league duty.

Both teams had chances early on, but it was the 2010s who took the lead in the half hour mark when Codi Summers latched onto a through ball to head it over the keeper to take the lead.

Mintlaw should have extended there lead but were stopped by a couple of good saves.

Kyle Elrick was also having a good game in goals for Mintlaw diving at the feet of a net bound effort.

Middlefield were awarded a penalty right before the HT whistle, but it was brilliantly saved by Kyle.

HT 0 v 1

5 minutes into the second half, Codi Summers was sent through and was fouled in the box.

Zak Rose stepped up to take the penalty and calmly side footed the ball into the net, sending the keeper the wrong way to make it 2.

2010s were playing well at this point showing some good passages of play in the Middlefield half.

Jackson Cross made it 3 after a mistake by the Middlefield keeper and he passed it into an empty net.

Middlefield came back into it and scored with 10 mins to go, and they scored again in the last minute after the 2010s failed to clear there lines.

Final whistle came with 2010s winning the game.

FT Middlefield 2 v 3 Mintlaw 2010s

Some good individual performances today, especially in the first period of the second half.

MOTM today was Jack McGowan sponsored by Kenway Homes, who won his personal duals and drove the team forward when he was in possesion.
A strong solid display from the midfielder.

Brodie has created The Transfer Playbook with an aim to help young footballers understand the US college pathway. Anyone interested in following this route should give the page a follow!

Great initiative and willingness to help others from a local lad ⚽️🔵⚪️

WELCOME TO THE TRANSFER PLAYBOOK ⚽️

After going through the JUCO system and transferring to a four year university, I realised how difficult it can be to find clear and honest information about the process. Eligibility, transferable credits, scholarships, roster competition and conversations with coaches can all affect a player’s future.

So last spring I decided I wanted to do my part and help people, I’ve been active over Instagram and LinkedIn and now Facebook. I have been fortunate enough to interview Professional players in Sweden. NCAA Division 1 players, Former Scottish professionals and more.

This page will share:

⚽️ Honest experiences from players and coaches
🎓 JUCO, NCAA and NAIA transfer guidance
📋 Eligibility and college-soccer updates
📲 Coach-outreach and recruitment advice
🔄 Lessons from players who have changed schools
🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿Player stories and opportunities from Buchan and across North-East Scotland

The aim is to help players understand their options, ask better questions and make informed decisions before committing to their next move.

I also want to use this platform to highlight players from the Buchan and North-East area who may not always receive the exposure their ability deserves. As more Scottish talents head across the Atlantic I can’t wait to see how it develops in my hometown.

I’m looking forward to growing the page, learning from more players and coaches, and sharing information that can genuinely help others.

Please follow and share the page with anyone involved in the U.S. college soccer pathway or football across North East Scotland.

Our 2014s Blues had there first round Scottish cup at home and it was a great watch. Well done boys 💙👏

Mintlaw Blues marked their first-ever SYFA Scottish Cup tie with a gritty, action-packed 3-1 victory over Deveronvale in a breathless First Round clash.

Straight from kick-off, the Blues signaled their intent with an early chance falling to Liam, quickly followed by a sharp through ball from Ethan looking for JT before the visitors managed to break up the play. Mintlaw had to stay sharp at the other end as Harris produced a vital last-ditch clearance, while Bobby pulled off a brilliant save between the sticks to keep the contest level. Henry and JT both tested the opposition keeper with excellent efforts, and the breakthrough finally arrived on 11 minutes: Henry whipped in a dangerous corner that caused chaos in the box, Liam kept the move alive, and JT pounced to make it 1-0.

Connor went close soon after with a stinging drive, but Deveronvale showed their threat on the counter, leveling the match in the 19th minute with a clinical breakaway goal. The Blues had to dig deep before the break—Adam and Quinn both delivered crucial clearances under heavy pressure, Henry saw a curling free-kick go agonizingly close, and Harry won a late corner to close out a lively 1-1 first half.

HALF- TIME: Mintlaw 1 - 1 Deveronvale

Mintlaw flew out of the traps in the second period. Kyle set the tone with a commanding clearance before Henry tore away on the counter; his shot rebounded off the post and Alfie reacted fastest, slotting home the rebound to put the Blues 2-1 ahead. The drama escalated as Mintlaw had a goal chalked off after the keeper dropped the ball, followed by Harry feeding Lachlan whose strike rattled the woodwork.
With Andy winning crucial tackles in the middle and Lachlan whipping dangerous balls across the face of goal, Mintlaw kept pressing. Ellis looked to have extended the lead after finding the back of the net, only to be denied by a baffling offside call. Bobby produced another top save to preserve the lead, and after Asher drew a clever foul to relieve the pressure, Mintlaw sealed the tie on 67 minutes: Harry sliced open the defence with a pinpoint through ball and Andy finished with composure for 3-1.

Deveronvale mounted sustained late pressure with balls pumped forward, but Harris and the resolute Mintlaw backline held firm until the final whistle, capping off a memorable cup debut and booking their place in the next round.

FULL-TIME: Mintlaw 3 - 1 Deveronvale

MOTM: Joint Man of the Match honours go to Adam and Quinn, who put in an absolute masterclass in defence by matching their runners stride for stride and winning virtually every ball that came their way! Well done, boys 👏
