WE’RE BACK ON COURT!
The summer break is officially over — and tonight the Older Group (12–17) was back doing what they love!
Big energy. Big smiles. Hard work. Plenty of basketball.
But it’s not just about learning how to play basketball. It’s about building confidence, making friends, challenging yourself and being part of a team.
Every player starts somewhere. You don’t need to be the best. You just need to show up, work hard and enjoy the game.
If your child is 12–17 and wants to try basketball, come and join us! No experience needed — just give it a go. 👊

WE'RE BACK!
What a fantastic first training session after the summer break!
So many smiles, positive energy and happy faces around the court. Plenty of loud celebrations, high-fives and screams of excitement after those beautiful shots went in! It was brilliant to see how much the children are enjoying basketball and how their interest, confidence and love for the game continue to grow. A huge thank you to all the parents for bringing your children to training, supporting them and giving them the opportunity to be part of something positive. Basketball is not just about learning to play the game. It's about being active, making friends, building confidence and, most importantly, being happy.
And there’s honestly nothing better than finishing training by beating the parents on the basketball court! 😂🏀.
The journey continues.

1587 Peterhead already had a school.
For more than 400 years, schools, buildings, streets and the town itself have continued to change.
In 1846, Peterhead Academy was established.
In 1891, a new Academy building opened.
In 1974, Meethill School opened.
And today, Peterhead is once again building a new Academy — a new building for future generations.
But all of this makes me think about one simple question:
Who will be learning in these buildings 20 or 30 years from now?
Because the future of a town is not just about buildings.
The future of a town is its people.
And people begin with children.
Families, children, schools, sport and community are not separate things.
They are all part of the same chain.
Family gives a child a home.
Education gives them knowledge.
Sport gives them discipline, confidence and a team.
Community gives them a sense of belonging.
And together, all of this helps build the future of our town.
That is why when we talk about basketball in Peterhead, I don't want to talk only about wins and losses.
I want to talk about children.
About families.
About the kind of town we want to leave for the next generation.
Because one day, today's children will become parents themselves.
They will become teachers, coaches, business owners, workers, volunteers and community leaders.
And one day, their children may walk through the same school doors that we are building today.
That is what building the future of a town really means.
It is not only about building a new building.
It is about raising a generation of people who will want to live here, learn here and build their future here.
Give a child a ball.

Give a family a reason to stay.

The wait is finally over…

Basketball is back this Wednesday, 2nd September!

We have genuinely missed our young players — their energy, determination, enthusiasm, smiles and passion for the game.

We can’t wait to see everyone back on the court, picking up a basketball, working hard, learning new skills, challenging themselves and, most importantly, enjoying being part of a team.

And to all the new players and families who are thinking about joining us — we’re ready to welcome you!

Whether your child has played basketball before or has never picked up a basketball in their life, there is a place for them at Bloo Toon Bulls.

This club is about more than basketball.

It’s about building confidence, friendships, discipline, teamwork and opportunities for young people in Peterhead.
We started this journey because we believe that Peterhead deserves a strong basketball future — and that future starts with our children.

OUR COACH IS TAKING THE MESSAGE FURTHER
Our Club Director & Head Coach Tomas recently spoke with That’s TV about the campaign for more proper outdoor basketball courts in Peterhead and across Scotland.
We have to admit, he was pretty nervous doing his first TV interview! 😅 And apparently “you know” made a few appearances! 😂
But what matters is the message behind it.
We want to see a future where our young players — and children who haven't even joined our club yet — have somewhere safe and free to play basketball, practise their skills, meet friends and stay active.
This is bigger than one club. It is about creating better opportunities for the next generation of young people.
We will keep doing our part. One step at a time. 🏀

PETERHEAD BASKETBALL CLUB – BLOO TOON BULLS

SEASON 2026/27 | COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP & SPONSORSHIP

As we prepare for our 2026/27 season, Peterhead Basketball Club – Bloo Toon Bulls is entering an exciting next stage of development.

The club was established to create more opportunities for children and young people in Peterhead and the surrounding area to play basketball, develop their skills and become part of a positive sporting community.

Although Bloo Toon Bulls is a young club, our first season has already given us a strong foundation. We have established regular training, welcomed players into the club and built the structure needed to continue developing.

Our next step is to build on that foundation.

OUR 2026/27 AMBITIONS

During the new season, we aim to:

• Continue providing regular basketball training for young players
• Grow our junior membership
• Develop players across different age groups
• Introduce more opportunities for friendly games and tournaments
• Give players experience competing against other clubs
• Continue investing in quality training equipment
• Provide players with professional team clothing and equipment
• Develop a strong team identity and club culture
• Create a sustainable pathway for young players to continue progressing in basketball

To make this possible, we are now opening the door to local businesses, employers and community partners who may be interested in supporting the development of youth basketball in Peterhead.

2026/27 INVESTMENT AREAS

Hall Hire – approximately £6,000

Our largest seasonal operating cost. This provides the regular indoor training environment required throughout the season, from September through to the end of June.

Team Playing Kits – approximately £1,125

A new playing kit costs approximately £45 per player. With up to 25 players, the estimated cost would be around £1,125.

Providing players with their own team kit is an important step in developing a professional team identity and ensuring every player feels part of Bloo Toon Bulls.

Team Hoodies – approximately £750

Up to 25 team hoodies at approximately £30 each, helping create a strong team identity both on and away from the court.

Transport & Friendly Games – Cost TBC

We are planning to arrange friendly games, tournaments and additional playing opportunities. Costs will depend on the number and location of events.

Training Equipment

Quality basketballs and training equipment are essential for player development, particularly as the number of players continues to grow.

Team Backpacks – approximately £300

Potential team backpacks for players to use when attending training, games and tournaments.

Game Ball – approximately £100

A quality game ball for competitive fixtures.

Table Officials & Game-Day Costs – approximately £200

Support towards the practical costs involved in hosting and running games.

PARTNERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Support does not have to be large to make an impact.

A local business could choose to support a specific area of the club, such as:

£100 – Equipment Support
£250 – Team Support
£500 – Player Development Support
£1,000+ – Season Partnership

We are also open to discussing sponsorship of specific items, including team playing kits, training equipment, team clothing or transport.

In return, we want our partners to be recognised as organisations that are investing in young people, sport and the local Peterhead community.

Perhaps you work for a company that supports community projects.

Perhaps you own a local business.

Perhaps you know someone who would be interested in supporting youth sport.

We would be grateful for an introduction or conversation.

You do not have to commit to anything simply by getting in touch. We would be happy to discuss what partnership could look like and find an option that works for both the business and the club.

After a well-earned summer break, Peterhead Basketball Club – Bloo Toon Bulls are back on court! 🐂🏀

A SMALL STEP FOR OUR CAMPAIGN

Yesterday I had the opportunity to speak with a reporter from That’s TV about our campaign for more proper outdoor basketball courts in Peterhead, Aberdeenshire and across Scotland.

We talked about why young people need more accessible places to play basketball, practise their skills and stay active, and what a proper outdoor court could mean for our community.

I’m really happy that this message is starting to get noticed. 🙏🏀

The interview is expected to be edited and featured on That’s TV – Freeview Channel 8 on Monday evening.

This campaign is not just about basketball.

It’s about giving children and young people a place to play, be active, make friends and feel part of their community.
