Peterlee and Sedgefield Tennis Club

🏆Our first ever Cleveland League campaign got under way last week.

🎾 The A team got us started with a tough trip to Eldon Grove in Division 2 and despite a few very close games came away with a 8-1 defeat, well done to Chris and Ste for winning a point.

🎾 On Thursday the C team had an equally tough looking match at home to recently relegated Norton and narrowly lost a close encounter 5-4. Great work from Shaun and Michael who picked up 2 wins.

🎾 That left the B team to play late into the evening on Friday in division 4. And they came through 7-2 against David Lloyd D. Maximum points from Hieu, Darren, Adi and Jamie.

Our cup match was a victim of the weather and will be moved to next week instead and all 3 teams play again later this week.

With the league season about to start, last week Yarm hosted us for a pre-season friendly so we could get back into the swing of things.

We won't mention the result (well done to Yarm!) but great to get some practice for the season ahead.

A 'smashing' day for a bit of tennis this morning at our weekly Sunday social.

Our home at Eden Lane is a regional award winner, tomorrow they'll be aiming to be recognised nationally as the park venue of the year.

A great testament to everyone who has helped develop the site. Our fingers are crossed

Last week we ran our first club social event. Great to see all the courts in use and lots of new faces, with the tennis continuing until the night drew in and bad light stopped play.
