These little wedge components are called snubbers. They prevent fan blades from wobbling or hitting each other at incredible speeds. A brilliant piece of engineering that keeps high-performance machinery running smooth. Have you ever wondered what keeps a jet engine together? UPDATE - I was wrong... correct function: The snubbers don’t actually stop the blades hitting each other; they were designed to dampen vibration in the blade, preventing mechanical failure (and then blade off which is a major issue, especially in single engines aircraft) at blade root. Always learning!
