WHAT CAN YOU DO TO PREVENT THIS?
CHECK your equipment and clothing for mud, aquatic animals or plant material and remove everything you find. CLEAN everything thoroughly using hot water. Finally, DRY everything for as long as possible before using it elsewhere as these invasive species can survive for over two weeks in damp conditions.
