We finished our busy weekend with a special day of Royal Academy of Dance Ballet exams! 🩰🩵

For some dancers it was their very first exam, while others celebrated another well-deserved achievement! Of course, we love nothing more than seeing our dancers grow and succeed in ballet, but these experiences are about so much more than just dance. Taking part in RAD exams builds confidence, resilience, and skills that these young dancers will certainly carry far beyond a dance studio, which is exactly why we encourage our students to take part!

Miss Marina and Miss Caitlin watched so proudly today, and seeing the hard work and dedication each dancer gave made us feel incredibly proud of them all! ✨🧑🏻‍🩰

What a non-stop weekend it’s been for our dancers! 🩵✨

First up, we had our super Saturday packed full of classes, then some of our lovely students headed off to perform at Wembury Summer Fair, where they showcased some of our dances from our Cinderella show.

We are so proud of them all for stepping up to something they’d not done before! This group of dancers, aged just 5–10, had no rehearsal together and were performing in a completely new environment, with all the distractions that come with dancing outside, but they took it all in their stride and did an amazing job!

Thank you to Wembury School for having us. We had a lovely afternoon ☀️🩰

As our wonderful show weekend comes to an end, Miss Marina is leaving the theatre feeling an incredibly proud teacher! Our production of Cinderella was such a magical story to tell, and I hope every students enjoyed being a part of it! 🎃🩰

Every single child gave it their all this weekend. What made me most proud was seeing the children cheering each other on in the wings, clapping for their friends, and celebrating one another’s achievements. As a grassroots dance school, what our children have achieved together this weekend is truly remarkable, not just in their dancing, but in everything they’ve done as a team. Every time I stepped backstage, you could genuinely feel the love, support, and teamwork from everyone involved.

Thank you to every backstage helper and member of our tech crew for making this weekend so special. A special thank you to Miss Caitlin for all her hard work and brilliant collaboration.

I’ve been so touched by all the beautiful flowers, gifts, chocolates, and lovely cards. Your kindness means so much to me. There will definitely be more photos to come throughout the week, but for now I’m off to rest my feet! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Love Miss Marina 🩵

A wonderful end to Day 1 of Cinderella 🩰

One of the loveliest parts of the day was seeing the support between all of our dancers. From our smallest performers in the Mini Cast to our Main Cast, everyone was cheering each other on from the wings and clapping for one another after every performance. It was lovely to see our younger dancers in the wings looking up to the older dancers, watching them with real inspiration.

We are so proud of every dancer, and hope if you were in the audience you enjoyed all the hard work they have put into their performances. We can’t wait to do it all again tomorrow. Thank you so much for coming and supporting them! 🩵

Next up in the holidays was our Mini’s Easter Ballet Workshop for our youngest dancers! 🐣

This magical morning was themed around the world of Beatrix Potter, with the children bringing her beloved characters to life, jumping with Jeremy Fisher, waddling with Jemima Puddle-Duck, and being cheeky with Peter Rabbit! The children loved watching clips of the Royal Ballet’s version of the tales, which we would highly recommend for everyone to watch, such a fun performance!

The children learned a lovely routine inspired by Jemima Puddle-Duck’s story, and it was wonderful to see them so engaged. Miss Marina was so engaged in the sessions that we were a little short on photos, but it was a joy to dance with them all and explore some of her favourite stories together! 🌸✨

As our Easter holiday has come to an end, we wanted to share and celebrate our wonderful dancers who joined us for our holiday camps! 🐰🐣

First up is our Easter Dance Camp, where we spent an exciting week exploring different spring-themed ballets and musicals. The dancers worked so hard, learning a variety of solos and group routines, and brought so much energy and enthusiasm to every session.

We were especially delighted to once again to be able to welcome children from the PCC Fit and Fed scheme. It’s always so lovely to see new friendships forming and to watch the children grow in confidence throughout the week. Huge thanks to the staff at Marine Academy Plymouth Community Sports for all their support! ✨

Thank you all for being so patient while I’ve been out of the office this week. Many of you know about my Spanish upbringing, so I’ve been spending this special week in Málaga with my family.

It’s been a lovely chance to slow down, enjoy some sunshine, and recharge a little before the madness of showtime truly kicks in! I’ll be catching up with admin soon and aim to get back to everyone by Tuesday. Thank you again for your patience, it’s really appreciated.

Wishing you all a very happy Easter. I hope you enjoy the long weekend, spend time with family and loved ones, eat plenty of good food, and make some lovely memories 🐣🌸
