π₯ STUDENT FIRST. INSTRUCTOR SECOND.
One of the most important things we believe at Ministry of Martial Arts is that being an instructor doesnβt mean you ever stop being a student.
In fact, we believe the opposite.
A good instructor should always be learning, developing, challenging themselves and looking for ways to improve. The journey doesnβt stop when you earn your black belt β or even when you become an instructor.
Our club instructor, Mr Roffey, has been putting in the work towards his next grade and continuing his own Taekwon-Do development. Today, he travelled to Dawlish to train with our good friends at Teignbridge Taekwon-do Academy, under the excellent guidance of Mr Hilditch, 6th Degree.
Training with other instructors, learning from different perspectives and putting yourself back in the role of student is an incredibly important part of continued growth.
And thatβs exactly the example we want to set for our students:
Never stop learning.
Never stop developing.
Never stop challenging yourself.
If our students see their instructor still working hard, still making mistakes, still learning and still striving towards the next goal, we hope it inspires them to do exactly the same.
A huge thank you to Mr Hilditch and the Teignbridge Taekwon-Do students for another fantastic session and for always making us feel welcome. ππ₯
If youβre in the Dawlish or Teignmouth area and looking for a fantastic martial arts club, weβd highly recommend getting in touch with Teignbridge Taekwon-Do.

π₯ CHOOSING THE RIGHT MARTIAL ARTS SCHOOL MATTERS.
When it comes to your childβs martial arts journey, not all clubs are the same.
βMartial artsβ is a huge term covering many different disciplines, styles and organisations. As a parent, you deserve to know exactly what your child is learning, who is teaching them, and what standards the club operates to.
At Ministry of Martial Arts, we believe professionalism matters.
π₯ We are a proud UK ITF Taekwon-Do school
π We have a direct route into the International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF)
π¬π§ We are connected through the British Taekwon-Do Council (BTC)
π‘οΈ We have clear professional and safeguarding routes
π Our students follow a recognised syllabus and structured grading pathway
π Our instructors are qualified and experienced
π Our students have opportunities to train, compete and progress beyond our own club
That means when a student earns a belt with us, it represents real progression within a recognised martial art, rather than simply being an award handed out by an individual club.
We also believe parents should feel confident asking questions:
What style are you teaching?
Who is the club affiliated to?
Is there a recognised governing body?
What qualifications do the instructors hold?
What does each grade actually represent?
What safeguarding procedures are in place?
Where can my child progress if they want to take their martial arts further?
These things matter.
There are plenty of fantastic martial arts schools out there, and we would always encourage parents to do their research before choosing one.
Donβt just choose a club because the poster looks good or because someone says they teach βmartial artsβ.
Know what your child is learning. Know who stands behind it. Know where their journey can take them.
At Ministry of Martial Arts, we are incredibly proud to be part of something bigger than just our own club.
π₯ Professional. Recognised. Structured. Safe.
