Taster session cancelled
Hiya guys,

Really sorry to be the bearer of bad news but our second taster session (16th Oct) has been cancelled.

The life centre was undergoing repairs last week and was meant to be ready to use this weekend, but unfortunately they forgot to fill the pool back up and have only just let us know...

Once again we are really sorry about this and hope to be back playing Octopush on the 23rd of October, this will still be a taster session and therefore shall be totally free.

Thank you all for understanding and we look forward to seeing you eventually haha

Hi guys, Just wanted to post a little update to keep you all in the loop.

Firstly the committee and I hope you are all well and all had a lovely Christmas break.

AGM. It’s that time of year once again where we as a club get to elect a new committee to lead us in 2021/22. The AGM is looking like it shall be on the 3rd of march via Zoom, but there shall be a separate post about that to make sure people can attend. The current committee shall post a description of their roles to give all you guys an insight into what each role requires.
Within the AGM there will be a financial update for the year.
If you or anyone you know within the club would like to run for a position please message me (Max Kimble) about it so I can include you in the PowerPoint.

Play. In terms of sports, we are essentially waiting for the government's next move, and hopefully, once lockdown is lifted we will be able to resume in some way or another. Training will still be held at the college and Plympton pool alternating each week. The life centre is meant to be repaired by June but due to more lockdowns, it may be later than this.

Mental health. This year has been hard… really hard on pretty much everyone in one way or another. Please do reach out to any member of the committee if you want to just chat or talk or anything. Don’t forget we are sponsoring the charity MIND this year so you can always contact them as well. Remember to be kind to everyone as people are all in different mental states at the moment and try and keep the positivity flowing!

In summary, AGM in the next month so if you would like to run for anything please let me know, We will be looking to resume pay the second we can once lockdown is lifted, and lastly, look out for each other.

Good evening ladies and gents!
NO MORE TRAINING THIS YEAR

I know this probably isn't the best news but I'm afraid we cannot resume training until after Christmas according to the SU.
The captain will continue to post fitness challenges and things to keep us all active over this very non active season haha, We hope to resume training on the week commencing the 18th of January but this is not 100% confirmed yet, we will keep you all in the loop once we know for sure.
Please remember to keep safe over this festive season and to look out for each-other and your families. Just to remind you student services are still available over the Christmas break to talk and you can still get a COVID-19 test even if you are asymptomatic between the 30th November to the 7th of December.

Stay safe, relax, and enjoy this time of year, we all deserve it!

MOVEMBER

Movember is an annual event involving the growing of moustaches during the month of November to raise awareness of men's health issues, such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and men's su***de.

The funds we raise will help fuel our game-changing work in men’s mental health, our innovative medical research, and groundbreaking tests and treatments for prostate cancer and testicular cancer.

A few of our members have expressed interest in participating and hopefully everyone will get behind them to fundraise for this brilliant cause or as the tight students we are, share the link to increase exposure (it would be amazing if we could do both).

If you are wanting to participate, please submit a photo on November 1st of your clean shaven faces and at the end of the month with your efforts to document and share your progress with the club, if you are happy for this to be done.

Here is the link to make donations:

Hiya everyone, hope you’re all doing swell.

So this evening Plymouth life centre released a statement saying that the whole of the life centre will be closed until April 2021, including pools. This is due to Leaks and faults building up over the last 8 years resulting in urgent repairs having to be undertaken.

The committee and I will be working tirelessly to try and secure us a substitute pool until April. We will make sure to keep all you guys updated as much as possible.

Lots of love
Committee x
