Are you confident in your ability?

Having strength is one thing, but building confidence is another element in itself.

Trevor has done exactly that and I see big smiles on the daily basis for the achievements and challenges overcome every session.

Now what can Trevor accomplish:

Walking up and down stairs far easier ✅
Sitting down and standing up with strength ✅
Winning the daily battles with a strong body ✅

Absolute pleasure to train and coach on a weekly basis.

Strength Training is for everyone 💪💪

Janet regularly flexes her biceps and shows all the other members and trainers how it’s done ☑️

It’s wonderful to see such determination and grit to maintain movements and the ability to do the hard things.

Here we are performing a sit to stand without the use of hands.

What’s the benefit?

Stronger legs across the whole
Reduced risks of falls
More confidence to complete daily activities

Results that can change your life

Learning to Hinge 🚨

Me and Trevor have been working together to build strength across the whole body and now we have started to target the hips.

This is the starting point, learning to push the hips back and feel the hamstrings and glutes starting to work.

What benefits have we already seen from 1-1 Training:

Improved sitting and standing ✅
Improved ability to walk up and down stairs ✅
Improved Shoulder Mobility ✅

All these life changing benefits have come from consistency and targeted movements

First Pull-Ups 🚨

The only negative here is the shirt that I have to witness every session of the week.

Regardless of me having to deal with an Arsenal shirt what a fantastic achievement for Nick.

All jokes aside, Nick has made incredible progress and strength improvements.

From not being able to squat due to neck pain to squatting 70kg comfortably.

To two pull-ups in such a short period of time shows that consistency across full body movements carries across the weight room.

Arteta out.

PB Number 2 🚨

First attempt at 145kg!

Taking a break from deadlifts for a few weeks to prioritise strength to help has really pulled through.

A 1 Rep Max is never going to be perfect technique and now we can iron out the details from the clip and work towards a smoother more efficient rep.

Work on technique and strength is starting to pay off massively.

What’s the benefit of the deadlift? Absolutely everything is engaged and working for one purpose.

Two PBs in one session 🚨

This is the first of two that we saw on Monday!

The big barrier we have been trying to overcome is 140kg.

Marc has built a tolerance of consistently hitting 140kg for a single rep the last two-three months now but not quite being able to break the barrier.

Yesterday we saw it break twice. 142.5kg and then 145kg.

What’s been the focus?

Deficit deadlifts
Building quad strength
Building upper body and back strength

We have seen increased weights on squats, more reps on pull-ups all helping to build into a stronger overall deadlift.

With persistence and consistency the work has been achieved and sights are now set on the 150kg by the end of the year.

Busy lifestyles, Full-Time Work, Deadlines all impact how your body can react to training.

For a lot of people, finding a balance between the chaos of life is all it takes to be successful and see progress.

1-2 Sessions per week with strong intent and focus is plenty to see progress.

It’s all about exercise selection and focus on quality movements.

Gone are the days of 5 x sessions per week.

The whole point of training is to allow you to perform away from work and allow your body to withstand what life throws at it.

Training for most isn’t about intensity all week

Work and life bring stressors that you can’t control and this will heavily impact energy levels, sleep and nutrition throughout the week.

Most people with busy lifestyles only need 1-2 gym sessions per week to cover all of the basics for a strong body.

What you see online doesn’t always fit your lifestyle.

When working 1-1, I analyse an individuals work week, stresses and look to understand when to push the intensity and when to hold back.

This helps the body to perform when needed across the whole week, month and year.
