Good to see the owner of the boat that smashed into our beautiful Dazcat has realised that they are better off selling it. With a touch of sarcasm one of our crew suggested that we can personally vouch for the limitations of the forward helm position that they mention as it certainly didn’t help them maintain a safe watch when they crashed into us!

Obviously Rebecca Jarvis (sales agent for the boat) and the owner of Blue Wonder are not amused by the sarcastic humour shown by the DMS Offshore Racing Team in sharing their advert (thought that’s what everyone did on Facebook?) and are claiming it to be their intellectual property. So obviously I’ve removed the advert but I am sure if you search for Rapier 550 by Broadblue you will easily find it and our original words remain in our post. In the meantime, I have posted a couple of pictures of Blue Wonder showing her post the collision of our Dazcat 1495 (our intellectual property). Despite all the excuses of flooded bilges, failed cutlass bearings and trying to blame Multimarine who last serviced it prior to 2 x Atlantic crossings the facts remain less than an hour after the collision where a locally based engineer found no faults in the throttle controls or engines, Blue Wonder managed to reverse away from the Dazcat, tie up on the fuel barge for a short while and then proceed to motor to the River Yealm where she picked up a mooring (no mean feat with one engine on a big catamaran – almost unbelievable boat handling skills given the tidal stream in the Yealm) and then continued a holiday in Cornwall over the next week (I believe Fowey was the next stop – AIS is a wonderful tracking tool). Hopefully as she requested that is not gossip but facts and maybe I can suggest that the price be reduced further than the £100k you have chipped off and you might get a sale! Still big money for a 2014 boat that is the only one ever built showing it’s probably not designed as well as a Dazcat even though it was built by Multimarine who build all the Dazcats (design and build different things hey!). And for the record I haven’t read any letter or email sent to the team by Blue Wonder owner as he made his feelings quite clear by not apologizing and saying ‘s**t happens’ when I arrived at the boat and said the F word several times (understandably I think) about how the collision had ruined our racing season, our summer holidays and missing my daughters prom. So sure s**t happens and it’s my right to post my opinions on it.
